New to FFXI....

Greetings:
My Name Is Moo, I use to play WoW and I quit after hitting 70, I never found exactly what I was looking for...which was Role Playing....Where I won't be surrounded by people who's language Consists of "Lol, newb, F@G, Qu**r" and etc...A world where I can really become part of!

Where I could have a back story to my character that I made, where the race stats of the character wont limit me to the class I play and role play into it.

I am hoping to find this and much more in FFXI, I and looking forward to meeting new friends as well.

I have yet to pick a race or a name...but I am thinking..

You are not going to find RP in FFXI. There are a few RP LS spread out across servers, but except for the time you spend in them, you are going to be left very much wanting again. My recommendation if you want some serious (and good) RP, go with EVE. That game's community RPs without even trying to; there is a very large RP section, and seeing other RPrs floating around is not at all uncommon. And because of the terminology the game uses, it can even be hard to tell if someone is RPing, or if they're just playing, so you can believe what you want.

Thanks for the reply, I will checkinto EVE if I final Fantasy XI doesn't appeal to myself and My fiance...I will probably move to Warhammer if this turns into another wow xD...not sure...but that's another story ha ha!

FFXI isn't another WoW-like. It's been around longer, and was designed in a very different way (for consoles). They are two radically different games, and if you're just looking for something different, FFXI might be right up your alley. But if you're interested in RP, you will never be fully happy with it.
