promyvion-dem (leviathan sever)

well so began our quest in jeuno. Our fearless leader Plor the taru gathered us together all stragers to one another but willing to take the time to complete Promyvion-dem to unlock the new area. our party consisted of--

Rattler starts us off with a teleport dem to arrive us at our door of crystal shards we must all pass through.
Inside the emptiness we began advancement twads the memory receptacle(MR). I begin to notice the unusual atmosphere that surrounds me.

Oddly enough, dem was the hardest of the 3 for me to complete. Took me like a month to complete that one, all others took a day ( may of had something to do with the animas XD )

After finding the first MR (and destroying it) we continued searching for the others on the next levels of promyvion-dem. Along our paths were many emptys pact tightly in our path, we had to fight our way out with Ranged attacks and Utsusemi. The only death along the way to the dem spire was Slors quick death as A "weeper" we were fighting pulled off 3 AoE attacks resulting in many a curaga from the whm.

After our many struggles (killing 3 MR before we found the right one) we advanced to the spire. On our way we picked up some nasty aggro, but the spire was in sight! Along our pt trialed 2 weepers and a 2 Seethers. A shout came from a pt member.

Being lucky we all made it safely in the spire.

But 1 key item anima.

It also helps a lot to have two blink tanks on it. WAR/NIN WAR/NIN is ideal

Ok, Dem is only the first of 3 Promyvion needed to get access to a new area.

Also is Dem one of the easyiest, still struggling with Holla -.-

For the Party setup. use 2x war/nin or war/nin nin/war that they can tank.
rng/nin is needed. I guess you where after us doing this. can't check the date of your post here Hitan messed up a bit with his clearance of another memory, means no access to the Prom at that time.

Also monk and dragoon are not very well suited for this fight. And you need a BLM for some backup damage

* You need every little mp you can get for this fight, that you don't run out of mana.

Needed 6Min to clear our BCNM last Sunday.
Fighted the Mob like Exp mob and started around 70% with Anima (Terror i guess, Mob was running trough the arena) then SMN 2hrs along with the War 2hr around 40% i used mine and then the second Anima (Psycho i guess, nice intimitated messages in the log ^^) after that it was only kill it as fast as possible with Barrage and WS and some BLM Spells.

Call it personal preference, but I'd take Elsurion's party, and dump the SMN for a second RNG or BLM.

Every time I've done Promyvions, if we've had a SMN they've managed to miss with their 2 hour (i.e. bad hate shift), mostly just due to bad luck.

BLM/[WHM/RDM] (RDM gives *slightly* more nuke damage, but isn't as solid as /WHM for this)

Has worked amazingly well for me. Both BLMs need to use Manafont near the end of the fight if they're burning as many MP as they should be, but as you have a moderately tough time of getting through 2 of the BCs in under 2 hours (especially if you're trying to get an alliance through, which is a baaaaaad idea), it doesn't seem to matter that much.

WAR/NIN is hands down the best tank for Promyvion. They're not quite as evasive as a NIN (the skillcap differences are less noticeable at lv 30), but much, much sturdier. Taking damage is kind of inevitable in the BCNM, and WAR is able to take a lot more of it than NIN can. Since neither has Utsu: Ni, there's no real difference in their blinking ability (aside from Ninjutsu skillcaps and the resultant difference in interruption rate, which falls into the "pretty damn high" category either way).

Perfect setup. Massive damage and when the boss is about to die, unleashing 3 EES will completely kill it.
