That happened to me yesterday...kind of...

I logged out, came back on later and everything was fine. I assume you logged on, came back on and everything was not fine. If that's the case, maybe trying what Geo mentioned will work, but in the reverse order. :spin:

I've had the same problem about 2 weeks ago.

Don't really know what I did to solve the problem but this is what I did and suddenly it worked:

I entered the ffxi configuration utility and changed around on almost all settings. The first thing to try is turning Bump mapping OFF.

I also installed an older version of ATI drivers for my ATI Radeon 9700 grafic card (Before this I was using the latest ATI drivers).

Doing these 2 things solved my problems, before that I tryed reinstalling POL and FFXI, updatet for 5 hours - But that didn't help anything.

But try turning Bump mapping off and if that doesnt help - try tweaking some of the other settings in the ffxi configuration utility.

And last but not least if that doesnt help - try a different driver/version for your GF card.

if the above solutions don't work try reinstalling. some of your data may have been damaged.

That's probably the result of video card overheating. The same thing happened to me about a month ago when my fan burnt out.

Definetly overheating. I've had this even more bad about 4 Months ago, but unfortunetly not only my fan was grilled, the whole card was *sigh*

Check your Vid Card. Definitely looks like it is overheating. If you think it is good and not overheating, uninstall your drivers, reinstall either an old working version or the new versions. I am running ATI 9800 Pro with the 4.7 Cats and have no problems.

how the hell can it be worse than this lol and i cant really show ya how bad it was with just pictures..

Started doom3 and it was the swame thing.. hehe was pretty fun cus you couldnt see anything cus doom3 is soo dark XD
