  • Changing DAT files?

I've cracked... I've decided that getting a real excalibur is way too hard... even a full koenigs set is no reasonable undertaking for me. That said I really want my character to look like she's wearing those godly items... so I was wondering how people went around changing the dat files so that they got the desired results?

Is there a site listing what every file does? Or maybe a forum or thread somewhere that tells where items generally are?

Specifically, I wanted to change the appearance of female hume adaman to koenigs, AF1 coronet to AF2 coronet and Joyeuse to Excalibur...

also posted this in general and screenshots because I didn't know which area was more appropriate... but they both seem appropriate to me...

If that is possible (I don't think so) then only you will be able to see Königs or Excalibur. All other players will see the normal skins of Female Hume Adaman, AF1 Coronet and Joyeuse.

    The way of a samurai.

      I know.

I changed it already... had good help from modelviewer which gave the numbers (and locations) for each piece of viewable equipment...

this guide tells you how to change your mog
          http://ffxi.killvoid.com/page.php?id...669694da919ca9

it is the same exact method as changing all your other dat files

now , to find out which #'s corrospond to your character/equipment, use this program from this thread

          http://www.ffxionline.com/forums/sho...threadid=43155

read the thread tho as they updated the program several times, and you want to get a newer version

plus, you need to read up on installing language support and whatnot which is all explained in that thread

once the program is running, you will notice #'s next to the equipment you put on, that is the folder and file number for that equipment

that is all you need, good luck
