  • Prime Avatar Titan Beatdown! *56K Warning*

After a few days rest after our climactic battle with Garuda, the Avatar Assasins of Solaris gather for another assignment.
This time, we would venture out into the Quicksand Caves to the Cloister of Tremors and face the Prime Avatar of Earth: Titan.

The Anticans don't seem to pick up their own droppings. Ewww! Antican-poodoo!

The team gathers for a group shot before heading into Quicksand Caves.

Not long after, we come across a slaughter. Liwei and Lennie tend to the fallen.

Further down into the Galkan city turned ants nest we go....

At last, the Cloister of Tremors and the Earth Protocrystal.

A final group photo before examining the Protocrystal.

"In my travels, I have seen the city in the sky and trembled in awe.
I have dived into the arms of infamous darkness, only to walk the shores of a forgotten land.
I am the student who has bested the teacher, yet knows my learning continues.
My journey is the stuff of legend, yet my voyage is just beginning..."

    Down the Rabbit Hole...

Not unlike the Fork of Wind, the Fork of Earth begins to resonate as I draw closer.

With little warning, I am abruptly drawn from my reality into another.

Amid this void, yet another island of stone awash in strange eminations.

There he lay, slumbering in his Protocrystal, the Prime Avatar of Earth: Titan!

Sensing our presense the giant stirs in his crystalline cocoon.

Before us, the earth splits as rays of light arch high into the air.

The Summoner's Seal appeared, etched in light and rumbling with ferocious energy.

Emerging from the sacred seal, Titan himself stood erect and angry!

"In my travels, I have seen the city in the sky and trembled in awe.
I have dived into the arms of infamous darkness, only to walk the shores of a forgotten land.
I am the student who has bested the teacher, yet knows my learning continues.

      En Garde!

Even with vision obscured, we could see the island that would be our battlefield.

As I emerge from the protocrystal, this alternate reality comes slowly into focus.

Before we begin the climb to Titan, everyone prepares accordingly.

Fully rested and energized, we press the attack!

The battle is joined and Titan Prime has his eye fixed on our PLD Ersou.

Knowing that time is of the essence, I use the RDM ability: Chainspell...

Landing blow after blow of Aero II, I barrage the stone giant with wind!

After a hard fought battle and two fallen comrades, Titan Prime buckles.

"In my travels, I have seen the city in the sky and trembled in awe.
I have dived into the arms of infamous darkness, only to walk the shores of a forgotten land.
I am the student who has bested the teacher, yet knows my learning continues.

        To the Victor the Spoils.

Bested, Titan is impressed with our strength.

Humbled, he bows before returning to his place of rest.

Within his Protocrystal, he speaks again of dreams and reality.

With his parting words, he grants me a fragment of his power to bring order to chaos.

Almost as abrupt as our departure, our return to the real world was jarring.

A moment of silence for the vanquished. Neximus was fuming...

Despite what you might have heard - Titan is no pushover..

"In my travels, I have seen the city in the sky and trembled in awe.
I have dived into the arms of infamous darkness, only to walk the shores of a forgotten land.

          Mission Complete!

With the broken bodies we return to Bastok to see Juroro.

While recounting the battle to the bewildered Taru, we are sucked away from our reality...

Only to return to the dreaded arena of Titan Prime.

I stood speechless before the magnificent fury of the Earth Protocrystal of Titan Prime.

Again, I come face to face with the sentient ragdoll and his cryptic messages.

Then Carbunkle appears to lecture me a second time. Damned nosy for a nuclear rodent.

He seems to speak as the voice of the Prime Avatars. Mouthy little mascot he is.

Returning to Juroro, he seems to have inherited a rather severe case of amnesia.

"In my travels, I have seen the city in the sky and trembled in awe.
I have dived into the arms of infamous darkness, only to walk the shores of a forgotten land.

            Having a bit of fun.

Before jaunting back to Rabao through Korroloka Tunnel, I decide to unleash earthen fury.

Behold, the Summoner's Seal - and a rather large one at that...

To say that Titan makes a big entrance is an understatement.

"Say 'ello to my leettle fren'"

The Vana'diel reneactment of the "Battle of the Bulge"

"In my travels, I have seen the city in the sky and trembled in awe.

Damnit. My Radeon 9700 Pro is looking bad in comparison. Time to start saving some cash up for a little investment.
