Go figure. I whine about not getting any groups for this, then quite accidentally find my way into a group that did all three last night (granted, was up until 5:45 AM doing so). Even considering the usual alliance woes, it went ridiculously well - very little aggro, a grand total of one death in Promyvion itself (where we kinda ran for it near the end of Holla rather than progressing carefully), and ... two dud teleporters only, and we never had to go back for anyone.

The only main problem was the boss of Promyvion - Mea, where due a rather nasty social incident (which I'm not gonna taint your thread by going into the sordid details), one group died twice and was unable to finish that promyvion. ; ;

Oh, and as I mentioned to you in-game ... I went in the order Dem > Mea > Holla, and I saw Cid and Ayame at Mea. So it's simply governed by order, not by location.

Edit: got order and location switched in that last sentence.

Fal you are lucky to have them done. Twice I have gone now and twice I have gotten hosed, usually after warping between levels 3 and 4. I may not see Tavanzia this year at this rate ; ;

I'll be looking forward to seeing you post more, CoP missions.. because I'm not really into the mode to go and buy it, then have to sit though 12+ hours of dling patches since I quit.

Maybe, hopefully, once WoW comes out, you'll give that a try? I plan to.. in fact I been in beta for a few months now.. reason why I quit ff.

Having played the stress test... it's vastly different, and a refreshing change. It's easier to solo, and far more quest oriented than FFXI... but on the other hand, those quests advance the story and are more rewarding item/money wise than in here.
You could go through ffxi without doing a single quest and not miss much... whereas you can't really figure out that much of the story of WoW without them.

The game however doesn't promote grouping much... you can, and when you do, it does help a lot... but there's no emphasis on it at all.

Hey Fal i have been reading your thread here for a while and a while back you gave very detailed opinions on some jobs such as war i was wondering if you could do one for rdm from your personal experence ^^

Also is there any rdm's on your server with a full set of Relic armors? If you see any i would like to see a pic of them.^^

Also. the quests in FFXI do tell you alot about the story. I learnt alot from completing quests mainly in bastok and windhurst though.

To save Faluzure the trouble of answering those questions *again* (and they must've been asked a dozen or so times in this thread by now, though granted it's kinda daunting to sift through 80 pages for an answer) ... he takes pictures with a program called Fraps, and you can use a macro-editing program to insert Japanese text into your macros.

To Ka1'E1: Keep your head up man. It's not the end of the world if you don't make it. It should be fairly easier with the more people you have. You guys can just swarm in and kill everything there on the way to the Receptacles. Like I said, 1 PT can do it alone but its very hard. Usually LS members go together; why don't you form a scheduled Promyvion run with your LS and get it all done together?

To Dowg: Thanks to me? Is it because I show you what's going on via the Mission Screenshots? WoW? Hmm. I saw the stress test. It looked interesting and I am eager to play it. In addition, all the players I knew from Warcraft 3 when I was in my glory days ask me if I'll play. It is almost like I'm expected to play WoW because of Warcraft 3. However... I'm not sure if I'm ready for another MMORPG. I could buy it and make a character... but I'm not exactly sure how much I would play it. I mean, if Promathia didn't come out, I'd probably go to WoW until new content came back to FFXI.

To Blackwolf795: A... Red Mage guide? Hmm... Guides in general are hard to write, that's why you don't see a lot of them. In addition, the people who tend to write guides up are usually biased. They don't write about all the facets of that job (only things they have experienced). I wrote those guides for the other peeps a few pages back and I have yet to get to the ones that were requested by Tchernobyl (Warrior) & JP_Ikari (Monk). I did mention a few things about Red Mage, Page 66 - Red Mage Replies. Check that out if you want.

As for full set AF2? No, nobody has a full set that I know of. They only have bits and pieces. I posted a picture of the Mithra in AF2 a few pages ago. I also posted a picture of me wearing the Crimson Scale, but that's not AF2

P.S. Tcherynobyl & JP_Ikari, I've been meaning to get to those "guides" but haven't gotten a chance to (especially now because of Promathia stuffs).

Let's just say I'm taking a hiatus from the game. Talk to Masa for more details if you're curious. I don't wanna get into it in your topic.

Back to the matter at hand, thanks for the third promyvion shots ... how far into the Promathia missions have you gotten so far? I'm now (hiatus aside) on 2-3 myself, and it's time for another level-capped area, and another level-capped boss called a minotaur. Had fun questing in the Tavnazian safehold though - it's always nice to have a map quest be *easy* for a change. Unlike that pesky Uleguerand map which I still haven't gotten.
