Small sad update on my situation. It really sucks. I've tried for 2 days straight to get a ZM4 party. The problem is, I'm too high for any of the NA players on my server for help. In addition, those the same level as me are either still Rank 5 or didn't go to Norg and get the Zilart Missions.

So... the only people I can rely on are Japanese players. However, given the time that I come home from work, its morning /early afternoon in Japan. It seems the only time I can get a decent response is Japanese evenings, but at that time, its morning in the US and I have to go to work...

Looks like these missions are going to take longer than expected... I expected to get at least some of it done during weekdays, but it looks like I'll only be able to do it on the weekends.



So I'll either level up a subjob or just take scenery pics as I've done in the past. My apologies guys...

MASSIVE King Behemoth SSs
Since I obviously can't do my missions, I noticed one of my friend's low level HNM LSs was over at The Behemoth's Dominion today. I never actually saw a Behemoth, so I asked him if I could come & just watch. Apparently I brought my "NM/HNM Appearance Luck" with me Instead of the regular Behemoth spawning, King Behemoth spawned and annihilated 11 people instantly with a meteor. I ran away & tractored who I could. The 2nd pic you see is that LS gathering together to get out (they were only levels 63-75, most of them in their 60s. There was no way they would win.)

My LS wasn't available at the time, so I just sat around, knowing that someone would soon come and I could get tons of Screenshots for FFXIOnline... A lvl 75 WHM that was watching the whole ordeal notified his friends ands oon, 18 Level 70+s came and fought the King Behemoth. The battle took over 20 minutes with at least 20 people dying minimum. The screenshots you are about to see are the ones I took from beginning to end. Capturing what I could to show you this monstrous beast.

Its the least I could do since I havent provided you with much lately... Oh and don't miss the cool 3 SS sequence of Meteor :spin: (Way cool!) Hope you enjoy it, especially since I can run in higher resolutions cuz of the new vidcard.

Also, if it takes a full alliance of 70+ to kill a king behemoth, is it even worth it with so many deaths? I mean aside from the cool factor of wasting such a high level HNM.

Its actually 1280x960. I chose it because its a true resolution in respects to the same ratios as 640x480/800x600. 1280x1024 is slightly distorted IMO, but that's just me.

For Japanese players, yes... the deaths are well worth the prize you get. If you notice, nearly ALL the Japanese players are either rank 6 or higher. This means they have completed or are able to access the Region of Tu'lia. This also means they have accomplished nearly everything there is to accomplish at this game. Being able to go to all the areas, knowing all the storyline, being able to battle anything they want, and being the highest level you can be, there's only one thing left to do. To get a chance at getting some of the best equipment in the game. The only way to do that is to kill these uber HNMs.

Yeah, the experience loss is a lot (1 death for a level 75 = 4400xp. I raised a couple with raise 1, so that gave them 440 xp back ) However it just gives them a chance, even if its small because you have to lot between so many people, its well worth a death for an item you can only get with an alliance. You can always get the XP back, since leveling up can occur on a daily basis. As for the HNMs, its more like once a week before you get a shot at them.

This is also the same reason so many players want to try Dynamis, for the Relic items. Dynamis parties usually fail more than HNM parties because instead of 18 people possibly making a mistake, you have 64 players. But in Dynamis, it is very possible that 1 mistake can wipe out dozens of players. So its much more dangerous.

Call it greed if you will, to want to collect the best items in the game, but you have to admit that it turns heads when you see someone wear an uncursed set of armor or Dynamis AF gear.

Your pics are great I use some of them as backgrounds at work. Helps getting through the day! I've even started useing Fraps myself.

I know your pretty busy and stuff but if you get a chance Do you have any pics of Chest/Coffers? I'm not really sure how this works. Do they spawn like a mob only a chest and you trade keys to? Or is it a drop? I think the only way I'll get it is seeing it visually. Aproching getting my RSE so I need to know so i'm nothunting for hours.

Hmm. Very unusual request. I've never taken pics of chests/coffers because well... they're not interesting.

As to help you out, chest/coffers usually have a 30 minute spawn time (coffers are generally longer). There are only specific spots they'll spawn and nowhere else. So usually if you run a lap to each location, you'll eventually see it unless someone else is running a lap and opened it before you. Its quite easy if you memorize all the spots.

In regards to the RSE gear, the minute you open it, it will automatically spawn in one of the designated spawning points. If its some other race's time to open it and you open it yourself, you just screwed those seeking the chest 30 more minutes of wasted time

You don't have to kill anything to get these to spawn, they are automatic and on their own timer. However, getting a key to these things require you to beat specific types of mobs that hold these keys. Coffer key holders are generally tougher than chest key holders because coffers have better loot.

I have gotten keys before (Kazham quest) But never seen a chest especially while hunting those keys, so I was getting a little confused. I have the map that shows the areas but unsure of the rest.

I was looking at what I had in my archives that I haven't posted. I found some that I took on Monday (before I got my videocard). Someone requested the spell Holy, so here it is.

Just a small, quick update to let you guys know what went on this weekend.

For those of you who don't know, I've been trying to get a Zilart Mission Party together during the weekdays ever since last week, but that just didn't happen. Me coming home around 6 PM from work wasn't helping. Not many Japanese players play at 8 AM, so my missioning was shot to hell. I realized around Wednesday (after 3 days of unsuccessful shouts) that I should just wait until the weekend to do my Zilart Missions.

I started off Friday night with a slow start. I tried to solo some easy preys 1v1 melee (dumb idea). I wanted to get my weaponskill up but I got too cocky, not to mention that I decided to fight a monk mob. He hit me 2-3 times per attack and kept interrupting my spells. When he got me down to 250, I thought about manafonting, but I thought I could pull off one heal. I died. HA! Anyway, I started back in my hometown and noticed I only had 500xp until I dropped down to 74. Luckily, I picked up a leveling PT upon going back to Jeuno, so I gained a buffer of about 6300 xp (this was much needed). After about an hour of shouting in Jeuno in Japanese, I picked up a Mission 4 PT. Very cool & helpful Japanese players. We wiped out Mission 4 easy but I died once due to agro (thank God for XP buffer).

Saturday morning, I did some of Mission 5. Mission 5 requires you to solo 3 things, so I decided it would be good to knock those out while I had some time. I didnt play anymore after that cuz some friends of mine wanted to go to the movies, dinner, dance club. Was very fun, I danced with a cute blonde college student. HA! Ok ok, back to FFXI.

I come home around 3 AM Sunday morning (5 PM JP time). I realized this was prime time to start shouting for my Zilart M5 Mission. I shout and it seems a JP Paladin msgs me and he tells me he needs to do it too. Great. I pick up a JP RDM a few seconds later. We all split up to Rulude/Low/Port Jeuno and do shouts. Soon, we have an alliance of 12. We knock out 1 part of Mission 5, then the JP Paladin & I ask them if they want to do the rest. Some people can't, but we easily replace them. I only expected to get 3 done, but the Alliance was willing to help with Ifrit's Cauldron (the bitchest of the 7 parts of Mission 5). I was thinking to myself, this is great, I didn't agro the HNM (several did and died). While waiting for them, 3 of us took a wrong turn (damn my luck) in Yuhtunga and fell off a cliff. We suicided ourselves and had a WHM tractor/Raise us. -1000XP.

So anyway, that's what happened over the weekend. M5 took quite a while, but I'm glad its done. Its one of the worst Zilart MIssions I think because you have to run across the globe. Its 10:20 AM Sunday morning and I'm heading to bed. I have over 100 pictures of my adventures that I described to you above, but I can't upload them (because my roommate is downloading/eating up the bandwidth) & dont feel like messing 100+ pics in photoshop right now.
