Your work is truly inspiring. They say a picture is worth a thousand words; each of your illustrations could be a novel in themselves. I am especially amazed at the depth you can give to taru, you give them character that breaks them out of their stereotypical role.

I have an idea that doubles as a request I suppose...

All of your images so far have conveyed a great depth of feeling, and naturally as I looked at them I began to envision an illustration, in your style, of my own character; a hume male ninja. Then a thought occured to me; we've all seen ninjas in the throes of casting, or poised ready for action, but what about the only skill (ninjutsu aside, of course) that ninjas innately know?

And so I submit to you an idea of an illustration of a ninja sacrificing himself with Mijin Gakure (not necessarily mine, though I'd be more than willing to supply source photos, should you consider my proposal.)

The main problem arises from the gaudy way Mijin Gakure is represented in game. The stock job ability action, a flash of light, and the ninja falls to the ground. At first I pictured a ninja being torn assunder by an explosion of the body, but then I realized that is a poor translation of what the act really is, based on both the facts of ninjas, and the mythical aspect associated with them.

Looking back at the animation of Mijin Gakure, I began toying with the idea that this wasn't an explosion we are seeing, this is the ninja's soul leaving his body; an act of desperation tempered by the knowledge that with his death he can still inflict great harm to his enemy.

I realize my post is becoming rather long so I will cut it short here. Should you see this, though, and endeavor to work with my idea I would be more than happy to provide any source imagery I can, or even describe the image in my mind of Mijin Gakure.

Hope you come back and post again soon, this is amazing artwork and you have an incredible amount of talent. I'd definately say you are well on your way to being the best FFXI character artist in America. Keep up the great work!

Wow....

Your work is absolutely AMAZING! I draw some myself but nothing to the calibur of your work. I cannot help but drool and gwak at the awesomeness of these pictures. But I wonder, what kind of medium do you use? Is it just paper and ink, or a tablet? I was thinking of investing for a drawing tablet for my computer, so I could draw to my computer, rather than scanning it.

Let me mention again this work is AMAZING! I could look at all of these drawings all day and discover new details that I had not seen previously. These are truly a work of art, and your skill far suprasses my own.
