This information is probably somewhere that I overlooked but can anyone who's played the game tell me how the system of time works? Is it real time like 24 hours in a day or considerably less?
This information would be very interesting to me and very helpful.

    Thanks.

The time in Vana'diel is very different from the real life...

1 hour of our actual time equals to 1 day in the world of Vana'diel.

Which means 10 minutes of our actual time is 4 hours in Vana'diel.

Which also mean, 2 minutes 30 second of our actual time is 1 hour in Vana'diel.

So 1 minutes in Vana'diel is roughly 0.04 seconds in real life.

Thats kinda stupid. A liitle short in my opinion. I thought the days woud be much longer. But when u say "days", are u reffering to a full 24 hours in the Vana'diel world or jsut from dawn till dusk?

Yea I thought the clock seemed pretty good as it is (I don't have the game) But I'm just saying why would you think its to short? They're pretty long in fact like Starving artist said.

Well, u see, this is just one good example of why the time is good the way it is. Chocobos, in every final fantasy, require a lot if time and effort for example ff7. If u've played ff7 ( which u probably have) u'd know that it take a long time to train and bread certain types of chocobos. U need rare items and rare chocobos which are not easy to come by. And even if u do get these things, there is a low success rate of getting the chocobo u want which can take a very long, long time. ff7 is not the only game in which it is hard to raise chocobos, just look at ff9 with its chocobo hot cold and whatnot. So im saying that chocobos take a long time to do and even waiting 6 hours is nothing compaired to the hours i've put into them. I still think the timme is a little quick for my liking.

If you'd like it to be more boring and tedious, you're welcome to do the quest 3-4 times.

I won't stand in front of you and your sense of 'satisfaction'.

                Time...!

That's how it is. Time flies by quickly in Vana'Diel when you're having fun.

Besides, what's so bad about time going by quickly? I see no problem. I think it's good. Hehe!

hehe, I finished this quest in very short (total) time What I did was... before I went to bed...

                  1. Before 0:00 in VD world... I fed the chocobo.
                  2. After 0:00 in VD world... I fed the chocobo again.

Then I logged out. Next morning before I went to work...

                  3. Just Before 0:00 in VD world... I fed the chocobo.
                  4. After 0:00 in VD world... I fed the chocobo again.

And then I logged out. And when I came back from work....

                  5. Just Before 0:00 in VD world... I fed the chocobo.
                  6. After 0:00 in VD world... I fed the chocobo again.

                  :D

id just like to see the time double, u know. Like night is one hour, day is one hour thats my opinion. It just changes too quickly for me. Im not saying i wont enjoy the game because of this but it wiil take some of the fun out.

another cool thing to have would be daylight savings time, no,
Like at the in the winter the days are shorter and in the summer the days are longer. Well if there are seasons. Are there?

Well I know it rains sometimes outside San d'Oria but I don't think it'll start snowing anytime.
