Thinking of returning, some questions

1. Is it possible to recover my old character if I no longer have/remember my old content ID ?

2. Is it possible now to type japanese with english client nowadays, or do I still have to get my hands on jp client for that. My timezone is closer to Japan than NA/EU, so it would be great to not have to resort to romaji for most of my communications. Plus, I threw away my JP cds.

1. I don't think so.

2. I can answer definitely no. If you want to enter Japanese script, you need the Japanese POL client. The NA/EU clients do not support Japanese inputs.

Only way I think you can get it is contacting POL customer service. Having the CC# and some other info you used for the account could work in getting the account info.

I think this depends on what format you are playing on. I know on my PC I can type in Japanese with a US POL and FFXI main game by using M$ IME program. If you do a quick search on google/here you should be able to find a thread on how to get it working.

As for PS/2 and Xbox360 I don't know.
