where can i get black mage spells

im in san the elf place and i went to that one magic shop by the port but i dont think i can use the spells they have is their another place that sell magic in san

the best place to get most anything, especially at low levels, is the auction house.

Never buy magic at AH when you are at low level.....
Some people think people sell magics cheaper than the shops, but that's not true. People sell magic way more expensive and make money out of it.
Anyway, you should be able to find black magic spells at magic shop in port sand. Maybe you couldn't find them since the lady at the counter first asks you if you want to buy white magic or black magic. You choose black magic or white magic, then she'll give you the list of spells.

I find it useful to have 3 characters 1 in each major city (except Jueno) That way you can shop around for the best deal on items. There are items which are only available for purchase in certain cities and in some cases items are cheaper at different cities auction houses.

I'm sorry, but I think this is REALLY bad advice. The lady at the Magic shop (in Port San at least) sells nowhere NEAR all the spells, she sells maybe the first one or two, but after that, there's five she doesn't have for everyone one she does have. Sure, if she's got the spells, buy them from her, but for the ones she doesn't have, the auction house is your best bet.

That's ture that she doesn't have all the spells. But you can get level 1 through level 20 spells from her.... I bought spells from her, so that is for sure. She doesn't have spells like stonga, waterga, etc (which you don't need to get right away), and spells like dezone which you can get from quest. Spells which are higher than lvl 20 can be found in other shops in Selbina, Mhaura, Jeuno and Win. I just don't think it's a good way to get spells from AH when you are buying low level spells. You can find, for instance, Aero for 700G or so at AH, but it's actually 345G at shop.... It's just a waste of money especially for those who just started game.

Except that she has nowhere NEAR all the 1-20 spells. She's got maybe half of them, if that.

I'm not saying you shouldn't check there, obviously you should, I'm just saying for the spells she doesn't have, the Auction House is the best bet.
