    PS3 Or PC?

    I am interested in purchasing FFXI but i'm not sure whether or not i should get it for the PS3 or PC? Any suggestions? Thanks!

    AFAIK it is not released for the PS3, you would have to get the PS2 Vana'diel Collection '08. It is really personal preference - do you prefer using the keyboard, or a controller? A PC is handy for looking up Quest information etc. - would you have your PS3 in a room with a computer, or would it be more prudent to just use your PC for the game?

      I don't know if PS3 can improve the graphics of the PS2 version, but if you have a decent PC it would look better on it.

        PC > *

        (Graphics are best on PC and you can run hi-rez) Just get a good pc, get a PS2 controller w/ usb adapter and call it a day.

          PC gives you more options as you sit and seek for a party. Another reason I prefer PC is because I fall asleep on the couch while sitting and seeking for a party otherwise! LOL If all you are concerned about is using a keyboard for controls on the PC, then do as Zoltar suggested. We all use PC's in the house and have PS2 controllers. It's the best of both worlds.

                  The PS3 will upscale the game and smooth out some of the visuals, but it still won't compare to playing it on a decent PC. It's still the PS2 version of the game. I would certainly recommend the PC version over playing on PS3.
