I contacted my ISP, forwarded my ports, diabled all protection software and contacted POL. I get the FFXI-3001 error as soon as I try to log on to a server, I made a character already, however I can not play it. My connection times out after chosing my character.

There are the results of my PlayOnline Viewer config connection test.

Obviously the problem lies in my tracert test timing out each time. If you can help me fix this I will be in your debt forever. The .pol address after tracert should have a dot com after it. (I can't post URLs because I haven't contributed enough, but hey, I can't really contribute until I am able to play >.<)

Re: I keep receicing error FFXI-3001

    Some helpful information would be:

    1)OS

2)Onboard firewall? ...or security suite? ....both?

    3)Type of router?

    Something that you can try:

~~Note: Not the wisest thing that you can do...but hell, it might help you out....

Leave our AV program running. Change your firewall settings so that it won't start at boot. Shut down the machine. Remove the router and connect direct. Reboot the computer. Check and see if you can log in.

1)If yes, shut down the game and turn on the firewall. Check the game. If no, check your firewall settings.

2)If yes, shut down the computer and plug back into the router. Check the game. If yes, consider it to be PFM, if no, check your router settings. ...it's not much, but it's a place to start. Good Luck. Oh, and don't forget to change your settings so that your firewall boots at startup...

Re: I keep receicing error FFXI-3001

I have an actiontek router/modem hybrid.

I don't use a software firewall and I am running XP.

I have talked to the tech support of bouth my ISP and POL to the point where neither of them can give me any more information.

Let's try and keep what is possibly going to be a long and drawn out topic off the public channel. I'd hate to clutter up the board.....

        Please check your messages.
