Commonly Used Abbreviations

I am new to the game and coming over from World of Warcraft to play what I think is a much more complex game. I had played the game for a small stint when it first released on PS2, but only leveled up to 18 with MNK. I plan to come back and have been reading a lot of the forums here, but I still find myself lost. I don't know most of the abbreviations used in a lot of the guides as they require that you are familiar with the game already. Can anyone list a lot of the common ones found here?

Think there's a thread floating from awhile back with a huge list, I think it was also in the FAQ forum if you wanna look back some.

I'm trying to think of differences b/w the two games.
WTS: Means what the sh*t in ffxi, not "want to sell"
Instead of "Guildies" you have LS mates or some variation. LS is your linkshell, like a guild, but you can be a member of several at once.
Some of the zones have abbreviations, VD can mean valkurm dunes, there's prolly a few more and I'm just drawing a blank right now.
All the jobs have abbreviations, but most of those are pretty straight forward.
Most general chat stuff is the same, though.
