Question about recreating a character (on the same server)

Hello,

Foremost, I apologise if this is in the wrong forum--it seems most appropriate here.

After searching about a bit, I'm no less concerned about restarting my character, so I come with a fairly simple question. I have a Hume on Lakshmi, and am wanting to change to Tarutaru--not aesthetically (Wardrobe's awesome for that, I hear), but for stats and whatever else comes along with it.

Basically, looking to start over fresh.

Were I to delete my character (after muling his gear and inventory off to someone else), how long would it take for the lock on my name on that server to release? I know that when I trialed the game about six months ago, it hadn't released after about 30 minutes, so I'm fairly curious here.

In my experience character names free up immediately after you delete a character. A bit of advice though - you say you are changing race for the stats, and not for aesthetics. IMHO, your race choice is all about aesthetics. The stat differences between the races don't make a big difference in the long run, and can be made up for with gear. Your race you are stuck with though, so be sure it is one you will enjoy playing and looking at.
