  • Few quick questions (sorry)

Hey everyone i'm new to these forums, got a couple of questions for ya.

I need help getting a friend of mine a worldpass anyone know where i can get one?

and the hard question for ya...

I'm running my internet off of a wireless connection is there a way to run a line from the back of my computer tower into my PS2 and get online to FFXI?

I'll be very grateful to whomever can assist me.

    Thanks!

Your friend doesn't need a worldpass. You can join any server when creating a character. If you mean a buddy pass, that's something different altogether. And if you mean something else, then...well, I don't know.

I don't know about the second question. Maybe?

If you want a Gold Word Pass, or as murphie called it, Buddy Pass, you want to talk to one of These three NPCs

That's not the same thing at all.

But yeah, if you want a Gold World Pass though (just for the bonus items you get) visit those NPCs.

Regarding the internet setup, If you have your network settings set up correctly and have the correct network card / port on your MB, feeding internet out of you PC is viable.

you'd need a cross over cable (not your regular ethernet cable) if you run from your PC to your ps2.
you would also need to have your wireless network adapter which is currently getting your internet to share it with other PCs its connected to on the network.

I'd suggest getting a cheapo wireless router (if u dont feel like spending the money) so you can connect with ur laptop wirelessly but also connect via ethernet with ur ps2. a lot less hassle and configuration then the way you want to do it now.

You're connecting via wireless without any router/hub/modem at all? I'm not sure how to connect PS2 in that case...

no i'm running it wirelessly off of a DSL modem, but i need to make sure i can run it from my PC before spending the money and effort into a second router for my house's downstairs area.

I've got a friend trying to play upstairs and me trying to play downstairs....it's weird and complicated but i dont wanna have a long ethernet cable running from the dinning room to my garage...so i just need help if i can run it from my wireless adapter on my PC to my PS2 (with advice on network settings and such) or if i need to completley cave and get another cheap router.
