  • job question (not a what job to pic thread)

So, I havent even gotten into the game yet cuz im patching for the rest of my life. But Out of all the reading ive done, Im not sure I understand job limitations. You can have two jobs at a time, a main and a sub job... but you can go to your mog house and change these as you see fit? In theory, you could level every profession on one character? If I make a whm and lvl to 15 and say, I wanna try ranger, I could go switch that on the same toon, and lvl rng for a while while not losing whm progress?

Yes, you lose nothing, and your exp is preserved exactly as it was when you changed jobs. And yes, you can level every job on one character. Would take you ages and ages, but it's possible.

Thanks to Roguewolf for the sig. :D

You actually can gain a lot too. Any skillup's you have got while leveling one job stay with you, if you level another similar job, your performance will be better then it would have been. For me it means when I leveled BLM and WHM for subjobs after taking RDM up higher, my healing, elemental and dark skills were already either capped or very close to it. So I hit the cure soft caps sooner, I had less elemental resists and I drained and aspired more. Conversly, I leveled my Dark Magic Skill to RDM cap by leveling BLM to 60.

So not only are you not penalized for changing jobs, there are some rewards to it. Well, you would have to find somewhere to put all that gear, so theres a little penalty

I use a Mac because I'm just better than you are.
