  • Newb question about skill chains

I've ben reading up on Skill chains and seeing /SAM seem to be the master of Skill chains, I still have one question?

How do you perform one? I still don't really get it. I heard yyou have to be in a party, but then Samurai can do Skill chains by them self? (e.g Fusion and Fragmentaion)

I've read some info, but I still don't really get how to acctually get how to do it. I know I'm not high enough level, but I would liek to know how ?SAM can do there own, and how do you even perform one?
WHen you grouped is it a command you perform on you menu?

    Thanks.

Re: Newb question about skill chains

A Skillchain works like this: A Weapon Skill is performed, and then a few seconds later a second Weapon Skill that's compatible with the first WS's properties is performed, and the Skillchain that corresponds to the second WS's properties is done. For example, going from a Scission (Earth) Weapon Skill to a Liquefaction (Fire) WS will create a Liquefaction Skillchain. Usually, separate people will do the WS's. Samurai CAN self-skillchain, but only with their two-hour ability, OR with a few really situational setups or a LOT of timing and luck. SAMs are called the masters of skillchains because they can get TP at a fairly fast rate, and their WS are extremely flexible in terms of their properties.

So to perform a SC the best thing is to ask party members what WS to use so you can sinc it up with therer WS to perform a certain SC.
