The contrast ratio on that is quite low (450:1) for recent model LCD's, and I can't even find the response time for it. Recent LCD's should have more vibrant colours. You'll also get better performance with a DVI cable then a standard VGA.

If I was going to buy one today, I would be looking at a Samsung SyncMaster 940BF.
I use a Mac because I'm just better than you are.

Well, I've had this one for about three years now, so I'm not surprised that it's a bit out of date.

you will be surprised at how close LCDs have come.

still, a great CRT will outmatch a great LCD in color reproduction, but unless you are into professional desktop printing, art, photography or other such stuff (even then most professionals will swear by the apple cinema display), does it really matter?

I have a 17" LCD that I really adore (NEC 1765) that I play FFXI on at 800x600. why? well I dual box many times.

fyi, if you play at 1280x1024, your image is slightly stretched out of the 4:3 ratio. Try 1280x960 instead and see if it looks "better" to you.

          Thanks Yyg!

agreed SA. for most pleebs, a good LCD is good enough

how I would love to get a WS LCD, but I haven't found one yet that 1) I can afford and 2) catches my eye. maybe in a couple of more years when 20+ falls to the prices of 17/19-inchers

              1680x1050 on a BenQ FP202W 20" Widescreen LCD.

              1680x1680 overlay.

I bought this for NTD$10500, which is approximately US$330. Should be able to get it cheaper now.

UPDATE: Checked on Froogle, and this monitor is now under $300.
