Re: New Printed Guide?
Ditto that. And in under a month after it's been printer, it would be outdated. Serriously, Mysterytour, Somepage and FFcyclopedia have everything you'll ever need.

Re: New Printed Guide?
Printed guides on online games become obsolote almost as soon as they are published. Always stick to trusted online sources if possible.Dig A10; Main: Bonecraft 100+3/subs: 60/Fishing 59.7
Mules: Cooking 100+3/Alchemy 77.7

Re: New Printed Guide?
I have the Brady guide, and I hardly rue the fact that I bought it. Although it's very outdated, and I rarely use it, it's become part of my memorabilia knick-knacks.
When I first got the game, the guide was more convenient than having a PC next to my PS2. Additonally, it was ideally suited for a beginner, and a better resource than anything I had found online at the time.
(with resources like wiki.ffxiclopedia.org now available, I can no longer stand behind that).
I still crack it open once in awhile to look up something when I don't have the other computer booted up -- so long as I know right where the bit of information is (for example: when a new player in my Linkshell needs help with a Windurst quest that I did two years ago and I can't quite remember all the details.)
Back to the original question. I can't imagine they'd produce another printed guide for FFXI. The online competition is clearly out classing them, and with such a large veteran player base, it doesn't take new players long to find the good resources (like this site, or ffxiclopedia).
Likewise, WoW is the the obvious MMO to pay attention to if you're going to try and make money of something that's so expensive to produce.
