  • Reactivating. Confused.

    How does this work? Can I reactivate an account that I haven't payed for since around last March or February and make new characters on it?

    I remember they had some 3 month policy where I think they would delete your characters, right? Someone told me it was extended to a year or something...if I quit back when it was 3 months, would they stil have my characters?

    I'm just kinda confused about what I need to do. I'm trying to reactivate the account as a christmas gift to my brother, but I plan on making an account as well for myself so we can both play and we only have one extra set of codes. So I wasn't sure if I could reactivate the old account or not. If I can't, I'd have to buy a new game.

    Hey, I didn't want to make another topic like this because I found one that is exactly my problem . I deleted my character around summer or a little before summer so if its 3 months I'm screwed =/. I hope its a year. Please anwser our questions . Oh yeah, If I already have the game installed could I just reactivate my account and play or I need to download stuff? Thanks.

      Here is what you need, before doing anything:

      POL ID
      POL Password
      FFXI Registration Code (On the card attached to your game manual)

      For players who've been away for more than a year, you will not be able to revive your characters. For players who've been away no more than a year, but deleted their characters, please contact POL support. For players with inactive content IDs, but the characters were not deleted, log into POL as normal.

      Make the necessary updates to your POL. This process is automatic.

      Select FFXI, but before entering into the game, choose Content ID from the menu. Select reactivate content ID and then it will prompt you for your POL ID and password. Following this, you may or may not be prompted for your FFXI registration code. Please have this available! Not having this, you will be forced to buy another copy of FFXI and start over from scratch (Your existing characters cannot be transferred to a new FFXI registration code)

      Once you've reactivated your content IDs, go and start up FFXI and you should be able to see your characters.

      IF YOU DO NOT SEE YOUR CHARACTERS - DO NOT CREATE ANOTHER CHARACTER!

      Doing so will cause you to "rewrite" on your existing characters and you'll lose them forever! Instead, contact POL support and tell them you do not see your characters, you've already reactivated your content ID(s) and that it has been less than a year since you've cancelled those content IDs.
