    Please... anyone... help q-q

    Hi.

    My screen turns black after choosing a character, just after the downloading information icon. I don't know much about computers, but could anyone please help me?q-q
    Can't find any realy clear solutions on the www w/o any result, but leaving me frustrated in front of my computer with the thought that I've spend my money in a game that doesn't even work on my computer.

    It would help for you to list your computer specs so someone can have a better idea of what your working with. Also make sure all your graphics card drivers are up to date.

      Uhm... yes.^^
      I'm using an MSI RADEON 9250, AMD Atlon XP 300+ and 256MB Ram ^^
      If something is missing I'll add it.^^

        In the FFXI config program, check the box marked 'simple character creation' and see what happens.

            Well one thing with such little ram is to make sure that you have no other major processes running while your playing. I would also go into the game config and set everything low or off that you can.

              Sorry... that won't work either q-q
              My config:enable MIP mapping (off), textures, texture compression (off) and onscreen maps compressed, bump mapping off, envir. animation (off), the rest off too. Resolution: 800x600 background resolution at 256x256.

              Direct X the one I installed from the ff11 cd and drivers of my graphic card are updated.

                I hate to suggest this since your not good with computers but you might have to downgrade your drivers. Sometimes using an older version of your vid card drivers works too. Do a search on google about downgrading video card drivers and follow the instructions.

                Well it could always be your vid card could be starting to go. Of course thats the last thing you do, but if you can't figure out the problem you might have to replace it. While your at it, grab some ram too.

                  NOOOOOOOOO.... please don't be angry, but the game works...
                  I left the game to load as it was showing download data, the black screen came as usual, then went away into the kitchen and when I came back... the game was working Q_Q
