OK I need major help. I'll explain my situation....

I'm playing FFXI on PS2 and my HDD broke a week ago but, i went out and bought a new one yesterday. I just got the updates done and the problem is that when I go to "Play" it says the expansion packs aren't installed.. (But on my last HDD i had both Zilhart and CoP)... are the expansions saved on HDDs? OR are they saved on ur character info on the servers?
Anyways, so i went to Content ID's to Register the expansion packs and it says that I couldn't because i already had them registered.. So, I'm wondering why it says that they're registered but then says they aren't installed and wont let me register the new ones. I really hope this isn't uber confusing but i'm freaking out over here worrying that i'm not going to the expansion packs working..
I've tried contacting POL and looking at Frequently Asked Questions but i can't find anything about this. Please, if anyone can help me PLEASE contact me a.s.a.p.

    Thanks Much,

Yes the exspansions are installed on HDD, you will need the Cd's to install them again.

I have the access codes but when i went to register it said that i already have the expansions registered under my characters and wouldn't let me continue with the registration.

Do you have the install CD's for th 2 exspansions? You have to put them in and from the playonline first menu go to install and run them both.

would i use my first disc that i had for my old HDD so that the codes would match up? or use the new FFXI disc that came with my new HDD?

The Actuall "Rise of Zilart" and "Chains of Promithia" Disc, "Rise of Zilart" Should be on your first disc. You should have 2 extra CD's with Chains of Promithia and Rise of Zilart most likely.

You don't have to register again, hit "returning member" and put in your pol login and pass.

Registration Codes are a 1 time use. You only need them for the first time you ever setup the POL account and the first Content ID, the RoZ registration code identifies that the POL account it's keyed under is verified to use that softwares content, the CoP registration code is the same deal as RoZ.

You do not need to use the registration codes again. You only need to make sure that you have installed POL Viewer, FFXI game, RoZ expansion, and CoP expansion. Like InuTrunks stated if it does ask for a registration code there should be a "Returning Member" option which allows you to use a currently active POL ID (It'll verify on that POL ID that is has been authorized to use that expansion).

If you used your old CoP CDs, buy new CoP CDs, or steal them from a friend (not recommended, and such actions not allowed on this site) does not matter. The CDs do not verify the registration information it's the database located at SE, so which CD doesn't matter it only checks to verify if that POL account is verified to use that CD.
