  • Cycle through PT/Ally Members?

    Apologies for the newbish question.

Without using a controller, or the compact keyboard, is there any way to cycle up and down through the member list of the people in your party/alliance? I know this is easily done with the D-pad, and it seems as if the compact keyboard mappings have this option, but I can't seem to find any way to do it using the normal keyboard layout.

If your talking for PC its F-1 - F12. If your talking about PS2 its up/down on D-pad, no other options, you could set a macro for it though.

If you want to macro it, you can use <p1> through <p5> (<p0> is yourself). There's also the first and second alliance equivalent. Other than that, it's F2-F6 (F1 and F7 are yourself). F8 is nearest NPC (usually), F9 is nearest PC. F10 is the top most member of your party (yourself again). F11 and F12 select the top most members of the first and second alliance respectively.

Hitting the Tab key or the 0/Ins keypad (with Num Lock on) key toggles through targets.

there is no way to hit a key to target people in the other parties in your alliance, other than the leaders. you have to use /ta name

Is there anyway I can use keyboard tags? Like how there is <p#>.
Is there a sort of <a#>? Or a tag I can use to target a leader, For macros & such?

for this reason, when doing alliance stuff, each party having its own healer (-ra spells) and tank and support can make it or have a dead alliance. I've seen one person suggest 1 pt melees (foward group), mages (back group) and everyone else in the middle. Eco wouldn't be as bad as Garrison, but there is a difference between party make up and the location of the character. When doing garrison, it's 99% of the time faster doing /ma "Cure II" <name> than hitting <tab> 50 times to maybe select them... with everything going every which way, it keeps selecting the sameones over and over again and if you do select the right one, you're going so fast you miss them and when you hit <shift><tab> to go back one, the battle has shifted and it gives you someone/thing else. helping another pt is nice, especially if that one pt's getting the brunt of it, you might survive having unbalanced pts but to be able to thrive each pt should be able stand on it's own if need be. I've learned from people who have never lost a garrison or Eco Warrior. Since it's so common sense, it's hard to believe that loosing them is even possible... we even had someone accidentialy force-pop the Eco NM before we even rested our first tic after making our way down there and didn't have an escort. only one person died. However, I've heard stories of whole Alliance wipes.

i've never done /ta <name> guess i'll try it my next garrison. tyvm ^.^ even at 54 i'm still learning new stuff.
