JP POL/FFXI - Won't type Japanese

I installed JP POL and used the necessary registry hacks to make it work with FFXI, blah blah blah. I can log in and play and everything. However, at this point in time, there seems to be absolutely no way for me to type in Japanese. At first I could switch to hiragana, katakana, etc. and then after a while it would get stuck in roomaji. But now it just refuses to get out of Off/Roomaji. I tried alt+shift, alt+`, shift+F#, and any other combination I thought might work.

Can anyone help?

Same thing's happened to me, but it's in Windows as well. No matter what I press it won't switch out of romanji mode - tried getting rid of the US input completely so it's only using the JP IME but no dice. It's like the Language Bar is completely frozen.

Mine used to do that to me but doesn't seem to any more.

well....not sure if this works in game.. but in windows, short cut keys are as:

Shift + Caps Lock = switch between Romanji and Hiragana
Alt + Caps Lock = Lock to Katakana (you have to press Shift + Caps Lock 2 times to get back to Hiragana mode.

You must have yours set up wierd. <,<

I think he's talking about standard IME.

Where you press ALT+Shift to change languages (EN -> JP) and ALT+~ to change from English input on JP mode to Japanese input.
