  • macro commands

    hey, does anyone know the best site to find a list of macro commands... at lvl 15 i'm gonna bite the bullet and start using macros instead of flipping through menus like a maniac. i'd love to be able to see all the commands you can put into macros as well as variables etc... the few faqs i've seen weren't very good, and i'd like to make some custom ones (hence needing *all* the commands)

    thanks!

    Hmm....well, every command can be viewed by typing "/?" in FFXI (gives a list of every command; typing "/? ma" gives the description for the command "/ma" which is magic). Some of the more common commands are
    /ma <spell name> <target>
    /ja <job ability name> <target>
    /ws <weapon skill name> <target>
    /p <message to the party>
    /s <message to say>
    /ls <message to linkshell>
    <message to default>

    Please note that the <names> require quotation marks ("") aroudn that name if it has a space in the name (e.g. Cure can be cast by using
    /ma Cure <t>
    or
    /ma "Cure" <t>
    but Cure II can only be cast by using
    /ma "Cure II" <t>
    )

    Now the <target> field is to be replaced by one of the following:
    <me> targets yourself
    <t> targets your current target
    <st> allows you to press tab (if PC user) or use the directional pad (if PS2 user) to the target you want
    <stpc> allows you to select the target PC character (i.e. Player Character: an actual person and not monsters or townsfolk, etc.)
    <stnpc> allows you to slect target NPC character (i.e. Non Playable Character: a character the computer plays, e.g. monsters, townsfolk, etc.)
    <p0> targets the first person in the party list (usually yourself)
    <p1> targets the second person
    <p2>...<p5> targets the respective person
    I think there is another which is <battlet> which targets your party's targeted monster. Not quite sure if it exists and how it is used, though...

    Good luck!

      <bt> will target the mob that is currently engaged (meaning name in red). Useful for if there are multiple mobs in the area and you want to make sure to cast on the mob which you are currently fighting.

        <bt> targets the nearest RED target.

        2 downfalls to this.

        1.) If you're in an alliance it doesn't work.

        2.) If you someone in your party sleeps a link, you may target it instead since there will be two red targets.

        Use with caution
