Eco-Warrior Quest Questions and HELP!

hey everyone my linkshell and i tried to attempt at this impossible quest we just have some general questions and im just asking them. Keeping in mind we activated the quest in Bastok - meaning we have to go to Gusgun mines.

1) can people that finished eco-warrior quests in other kingdoms help or do the quest?

2) i see i think i might need 13-14 people doing this quest... at the same time, do they ALL need the quest to be activated? or there can be just some people tagging along to help?

3) i hear the proper way to do this quest is 12-15 people needing the quest and maybe a part of high levels to clear the mines of aggro, is this true?

4) is the 5000 gil reward split or is it individual? and is the experience for a random job or the job you currently are using?

The gil is individual and the exp is for your current job.


We did the quest with 18 people and 7 of them died to the first Area of Effekt of the pudding. The difficulty may vary, we did the Bastokian one and it heard its a bit more difficult than the other one. 3 of the 18 saw the daylight again, the other 15 died a horrible death in the mines. But we did it in the end.

You dont need somebody to clean the way if you have enough people wit you. High lvl can not help in the battle, they can clean the way but cant heal buff or whatever.


I dont know if you can help if you did the quest, im curious about that either because we have quit a few people who want to make the quest but cant because we dont have a second set of 18 lvl 20 players.

Current Analysis:

- must have over 16 people AT LEAST.

- do not need high level help to clear the way, but if i had to make a decision based on everyones survival it would seem it would be highly suggested.

- i understand that high levels cannot buff us, but honestly we wouldn't need it since our own respective parties can do this ourselves.

- i believe we can repeat the quest again once it is completed in other countries since i got a person from windhurst who said he already completed it and is helping us do the quest (who also has it active under the bastokian quests)

Current Situation:

- we have about roughly 6 and potentially more people JUST in our linkshell willing to do the bastokian quest.

- we are looking for more people. especially High level help.

We did the Eco Warrior quest with 12 people, two full parties, of people having accepted the quest. In addition we had one level 43 player who killed all the mobs on the way, which shortened the quest by several hours. In the big combat against the quest mob we had 2 of the 12 people dead. But we were able to raise them in time to still get the quest reward.

Quest reward in 5000 gil for each participant, plus a magic item that gives 600 to 900 xp when you use it. But you can switch job to whatever job you'd like to have the xp for, and then use the item, so its your choice.

In our group was one person that did the quest for a second time, and he did get the reward. So at least in the same kingdom the quest is repeatable. We also had somebody who wanted to join, but had already accepted, but not done, the quest in another kingdom. In that case he was unable to accept the quest with us.

when i joined the quest for Windurst, it was a complete massacre, a full alliance of 18 people, and we all died, i didn't even get to join the huge battle, i died on the way there from a gob, no one was around to help me

Okay, so it looks like we're going to be capped to 20 if we want the quest.

Also, on what date are we to do this? Friday 27 or the 5? Or maybe something else?

My LS did the Bastok Eco-Warrior quest twice, once with a full alliance, the other time with only twelve people and a handful of escorts to clean the way. What we did was basically gain TP from lower level mobs before engaging, use Weapon Skills on the first pudding and 2Hrs on the second. One death the first time, two the second time. If the puddings are killed, the dead can be Raised, get the cap again and run back to get the Key Item ("Undigested Ore" or something like that, if my memory serves well). There is no need to beat the puddings again as long as the party/alliance stays the same (no adding any new people in it).

We did about the same thing with the Windurst part (gain TP and use 2Hrs), but since there are three mobs in Windurst, it's a bit trickier (although they are easier to beat too). Eight deaths this time, but same as before, a Raise and a recap allow the fallen players to get the item and finish the quest.

We are about to try San d'Oria this coming sunday...

You can't help in a given Eco-Warrior if you already have it activated for another country, but it looks like the quest is repetable once every tally, as long as you don't have another Eco-Warrior on the way.

Tricks of the trade:

My LS does this quest every week, once a week. We rotate cities, so week 1 we do Windy, week 2 we do Sand, week 3 we do Bastok, and week 4 we do Windy again, etc..

Once you complete the quest, it is repeatable, but you must wait one real life week before initiating it again. You must have SOME fame in the city to activate the quest. Having zero fame will not allow you to do that, but the amount of fame you need is really small (maybe like 5 repeatable quests or something).

After activating it at the starting city, we all usually meet at the NPC inside the dungeon (the one that smears on the 'goo' that levels you down to 20). When everyone's there, usually 2 rules are told to all:
1) Stay with the group at all times
2) Don't touch any ????'s

Then we form into well balanced groups and make an alliance. Fight our way down to the ???? location. If a higher level char wants to help, he can kill all mobs on the way down to make things go faster.

Note here that if anyone dies on the way down, just need to rez them and they will need to run back up to get the goo again. Otherwise any LD people will have to run back up to get the goo again. It's important everyone in alliance has goo when fighting the ????

Once we reach the ????, the "sacrificial tank" (either a pal or thf) activates his 2 hour ability, and then touches the ????. Then we fight and kill one at a time. Anyone who died will stay there and await a rez. After the fight, the rest of the alliance will touch the ??? and recieve the key item: either an ore or a rock or whatever. Then everyone alive logs out, and logs back in.

The point of this is the goo is removed, and makes things much easier (because everyone returns to their normal level). We revive those that died in the ???? battle so they can run back up and get goo, then run back down and touch the ???? to get the key item. The key is that you need to have been in the alliance that won the fight to move onto the next part of the quest. Then we all return back to town to get reward.

Reward is 5000 gild per person and a Dragon Chronicle item. The item when activated (min level 4) gives 600-900 exp. You can use that item any time for any of your jobs. What I like to do is hold onto it, so that if in an emergency and I'm like 200 tnl, I'll use the item, level up, and get a full heal.
