Does anyone know the conversion rate of maxed mission fame overflow to conquest points? Reason I ask is last night I capped out at rank 3 and need to do my rank 4 mission but the guard I'd handed some crystals to said I'd reached my maximum mission rank and that the excess points had been added to my conquest points. I'm wondering if I can boost my conquest points by repeated missions/handing in crystals and if the conversion rate makes this worthwhile. If it's something poor like 1 conquest point per 12 stack of crystals then I won't bother.

Once you've maxed out your rank points, you can no longer submit crystals to the guard. If you keep giving cystrals until there is only a sliver left, then donate 8 full stacks of crystals (the most that you can at one time), you get about 500CP. If there is something you really want, it may be worth it, but 500CP probably isn't worth it. you could get 1440 gil just by selling 8 stacks of earth crystals to an npc, more if you auction them.
So you can only do this a maximum of 10 times, once at the end of each rank.

There is a much easier method to convert gil into conquest points: supply quests. Since the teleport service was introduced, you can teleport from your home city to an outpost for which you did the supply quest for a modest amount of gil (200+ gil). For the same amount of money, you can teleport back.
But the supply quest is repeatable. So each time you use the teleport service, accept doing the supply quest to the same outpost, teleport there, and hand in the supplies for some conquest points.
I wasn't that interested in conquest points, so I didn't explore this option further. I can't tell you if the conversion rate gil:cp is fixed, but it seems to be not very interesting.
The other way round, converting conquest points to gil, is even easier. Buy item for conquest points, sell on AH for gil. In that case the conversion rate is about 2 gil per cp, not really highly profitable.
