Axe Miss Rate

Is it just me, or are axes a lot less accurate than swords? As a level 6 Warrior, with level 15 axe skill I was killed by a decent con vulture due to multiple misses. When I was using swords, I didn't miss nearly as much.

Am I just running into a string of bad luck or is there something to this?

you're axe skills are low and your sword skills are probably higher. Maybe you didn't max out your axe skills. At higher levels, if you have maxed out axe skills, the miss rate doesn't occur very often.

also you should note that DEX has to do with hit rate. better axe skill will inevitable resolve your problems, but for now you might want to keep an eye out for and axe with DEX+ on it. or just other equipment like that.

i use a Great axe. missing constantly with that thing sucks. same if i had great sword. my great axe is called Great axe, lol. i've had since i first reached its level til i was lvl 19. at first it did miss alot, hard to level up and all. but later on when i maxed it, it worked VERY well. now i take like 37 dmg when my groupmates might take 7. that's mostly because the enemy had high armor.

someone once told me that if your weapons level (not skill level) is too low compared to your job level, then its hit rate may be lower than it should be. probably just myth.
