GeForce4 Ti 4600 direct x 9 compatible?

I have a question, i have heard rumors that the GeForce4 Ti 4600 is incompatible with direct x 9. I was wondering if someone could clear this up for me.

Yep, I think the only Geforce cards that support DirectX 9 are the FX series.

Compliance and compatibility are NOT the same.

You can run Half-Life 2, Doom III, Halo, etc on a Geforce 4. You just won't see DirectX9 hardware effects that are built into DX9 compliant cards.

FFXI is a DirectX8.1 game anyway... so unless you wanna play the games I mentioned, plus STALKER, Farcry, and many other DX9 games with everything they have to offer... you're ok with that card.

Wait till the DX9 games are out and THEN buy a DX9 game, don't buy it beforehand because you'll end up paying more for less... :sweat:
