How do to get San D'Oria to Bastok?

I think that is the only place where you can get Scale Mail, and i really want it, but i dont know how to get there from San D'Oria ( walking there seems impossible considering the maps i have to cross). Can anyone tell me how? (If it is by airship, please tell me how to get the pass, or Chocobo License, thanks)

Btw its kinda funny to see peolpe start calling things by the english name (Scale armor). I have no idea what set your refering too.. but you could def get it on the AH

But is it safe for me to walk through all those areas without dying? That was my/our main concern.

Ah forgot to fix that, im level 11 now. Are these maps expensive? ( I can't play at the moment >_<)

I do suggest to use lvl 1 of your other job to go as no need to lose exp when die. It is kind of excitement to walk from Sand'oria to Bastok. I think why don't you get lvl to 20 to Jeuno for Chocobo quest. I have used lvl 1 job to go from Sand'Oria to Jeuno and very exciting experience.

I surly dont recommend being level 1 and taking the trip. It'll only take a crap load of time to get to where your going. Because at level 1 you'll die from one hit in Valk and probably in the highlands and La theine as well. Just go with your level 11 job and be careful. The hardest part of the trip will be getting through the cave in Valk(which you have to go through). Once your past the bats in the cave, its all down hill from there.
