Mr. Valient encountered a Tremor Ram while running around mindlessly. Fighting these guys is an easy way to make gil since they drop very nice items.

After some more pointless running, Mr. Valient decided to go help out Lady Itazura and Lady Hikarisno hunt leeches at Dangruf Wadi. These leeches drop a rare stone that's needed to start the summoner's quest. The competition for these little guys was fierce so Mr. Valient decided to strip down to his underclothings in an attempt to scare everyone away. It didn't work.

Dangruf Wadi became way too crowded, so Mr. Valient and co. took a ship to Buburimu, which was another place with leeches. A few minutes after the boat took off, another boat began chasing us. Pirate attack perhaps? Yes, that's what it was.

Here's one of the skeletons getting ready to swipe Mr. Valient's head off with his scythe. You'll notice that Lady Itazura is the only one whose HP hasn't turned yellow yet. Monks are really good against skeletons.

The fact that there were a ton of skeletons sort of made things a little unfair. Mr. Valient and friends were slowly getting pulverized.

Luckily, Sir Torio, a level 60 Paladin, was healing all of them during the fight. Mr. Valient would have been nothing but a rotting carcass if it wasn't for him. Eventually the ship docked at Mhuara and the trio went leech hunting.

Well, the leeches weren't dropping any stones, so Mr. Valient and Comrade Donnovan went treasure hunting. Here's a picture of a coffer that had the item needed to obtain the Hume RSE gear. Comrade Donnovan, being the nice guy he is, got himself a pair of Hume RSE pants and gave them to Mr. Valient. That's 32 extra MP for Mr. Valient's MP-deprived red mage!

Mr. Valient realized he was level 37, meaning that in one more level he could learn the spell Raise, and thus be semi-useful. However, nobody wanted to party with Mr. Valient so he had to solo. A lot.

Hurray! Leveled up to 38 after fighting one too many Goblins in Rolanberry for really bad experience.

Here's Mr. Valient learning the spell Raise. Shortly after, Lady Itazura finally found her summoner's stone, so Mr. Valient decided to tag along with her as well as Comrade Donnovan to complete the rest of the quest.

In order to become a summoner, you have to experience 7 different types of weather elements. Lady Itazura only needed fire, ice, and lightning left since she did the rest beforehand. The group ran to the Glaciers in order to get ice. Quite a pretty place, sort of. At least a place like this will discourage players from blazespiking themselves. Unless... gasp! Square Enix is using revese psychology by creating an enviroment that looks cold so people will want to warm up by blazespiking themselves! Everyone stay away from the Glaciers! Cover the children's eyes!

After that, the three ran to Valkurm which was the place Lady Itazura got fire. All she needed now was to see some lightning and she was set. This NPC at Selbina gives weather forecasts, and according to her there are thunderclouds forming at the highlands the next day. Shortly after, Lady Itazura got all seven elements, and the final things left to do was run to La Theine and perform some crazy ritual thing. Mr. Valient isn't the festive type so he shunned the idea.

When the trio reached La Theine, Mr. Valient saw the rotting corpse of a level 14 thief who was slaughtered by a Battering Ram. Finally, Mr. Valient was able to test out his newly acquired Raise spell. Being useful is so much fun.

The Battering Ram was still roaming around, so the group decided to get revenge. This Ram died fairly quickly.

Here's Lady Itazura just moments away from becoming a summoner. It was very exciting actually.

Lady Itazura turned around after having acquired the class. She was rather surprised since Mr. Valient and Comrade Donnovan sort of creeped up on her while her back was turned on them.

The three quickly ran back to San d'Oria to try out the new summoning powers. Lady Itazura's casting the Carbuncle summon right now.

And out comes Carbuncle. At this angle, it makes it look like some sort of marshmallow/cotton candy thing with ears.

Comrade Donnovan thinks Carbuncle is the most cutest dog/cat/squirrel thing ever.

Here's the portal that Carbuncle comes out of. The poor thing has to be underground in the dirt and all until it gets summoned. So sad.

Anyway, that's it for now! Three Rams were permanently injured during the production of this journal, and Dinc the Dude was spotted still leveling his black mage at Valkurm a few days ago.
