  • Trek to the Sanctum, Complete with Pirates!

Yes, I may have gotten a word or two wrong. Anyway, whatever, not like it matters! It was too cool. My friend Bill and I were totally exploring today.

So first, I met him in La Thiene and we went to Selbina, RUSHING to the boat to get on before it left. It was really foggy, didn't seem like good weather for a boat ride. Bill and I started to fish and then he suddenly went "OH SHIT, PIRATES" and stuff. Oh man, no wonder it was so foggy! It was SO cool, but so scary, but so EXCITING. Ahhh, the pirates were all, like, necromancing mages that summoned skeletons onto the boat. Luckily, there was a high leveled Red Mage on the ship named Gene that saved us. I got plenty of pics, but man, it was sooo cool. We bowed our asses off to Gene after she saved us.

After we got off the boat at Mhaura, we went from Buburimi Peninsula to Tahrongi Canyon to the Mountains to the north. We got a little lost, but we eventually made it past the giant bone-like Crag structure and to the valley leading to the Sanctuary. There were all kinds of Raptors and Coeurls on the way, so it was a little hard to get past at our low level.

And then we passed the Outpost and entered Zi'tat. Oh man, was it beautiful! Imagine the forested area of Ronfaure of San d'Oria... then, like, add even MORE beautiful music, GIANT redwood-like trees, crystals and rocks everywhere... Oh man, it was so cool. Bill and I were the only ones there without chocobos though, so we were at a real disadvantage. We started to go around, searching the area and looking at all the BEAUTIFUL scenery. Oh man, there was a giant purple crystal that shined so much that I HAD to take a picture. Further in were goblins and bats, guarding the whole area, making things hard since the place was rather narrow. Bill went on a head a little bit, but then an Ancient Bat unexpectedly saw him and killed him... Aughhh. Since I'm only a level 15 white mage, I still have 10 levels to go before I get raise, so I couldn't do anything but go on ahead and relay everything I saw to him. Oh man, farther in was even COOLER. There were loads more giant rocks and crystals, and then I came upon a bridge made entirely out of tree roots. Beneath it was what looked like a very purple fog, but after further inspection, I found out that it was actually a large pond full of Dark Crystals that gave the fog its violet glow.

It was one of the coolest FFXI experiences I've had since I started the game! Ohh, man. Well, of course, Bill and I had no intention of going back to town alive when we went, but that's a part of the fun in exploring. Soon after finding the root-bridge, I was found by a pack of Gayla Bats and killed in around two hits. I found the high-leveled part of the area, and without even a map. It would've been cool to check out the next area, but man, was it SO worth it...

    I love you, Zilart!

Ahh, thank you for the compliments!

I have more pictures, but I was just unsure of how many I should put. I'll put two more. The rest are rather dark, so it's a bit hard to see what's going on.
