I got the magnifying specs. I would encourage getting the GP items asap because they can help you out for those reciepes that are 10 levels away if you know what I mean. Another thing is...when your crafting with expensive materials....you try not to worry about losing the items but crafting it first...then skill ups...at least for me ^^

does this key item actually exist? on mysterytour it says you can get it for 40kGP but when i go to the GP npc in guild only cloth purification shows up. (im a lv 81 clothcrafter if it is any help) Can anyone please tell me if you can actually obtain this key item? and if you can how?
Cloth Purification:
I know this key item is used to make fine linen cloth and smooth velvet, but what uses do these 2 items actually have? im getting cloth p. key item mainly for completion's sake since i already have the apron and specs. I hope that for 40k GP cloth purification does more than just make 2 refined cloths which arent used for anything and dont sell on AH
heh.... well I'm deffinatly the n00b of this thread as I'm only lvl 5 clothcrafter. But my question is for farming for materials. Is it possible to do it without thf or should I not even waste my time? I've dumped well over 100k into getting my craft up to 5 (obviously I'm doing something horribly wrong because it took me like 20 synths just to get +.1 skill) making capes and most recently cotton threads. And at what lvl can I start desynthing?
kill me now >< Im at 53.7 and Im lvling with making green ribbons. Every now and then I will blow through a stack of silk cloth in hopes to lvl up. I dont craft unless the moon is 80%+ and its light or windsday. Yet I either a successful craft or it blows up. I havent gotten skill ups in ages, what gives? I know Im supposed to make these until 60 or so, is this normal or this lvl range?

This is normal, just bear with it. If your farm for the items with a friend then it can make it less tedius and painful.

I do not see how you could have already spent 100k into getting to lvl 5.
Level 1 - 5 is basicaly using a singe base material: Yagudo Necklaces
Wind Crystal + Yagudo Necklaces = Grass Thread up to Lvl 1
Earth Crystal + Grass Thread (3) = Grass Cloth up to Lvl 4
Wind Crystal + Grass Cloth = Hachimaki up to Lvl 11
It's rather cheap. A simple tip is to avoid buying all materials from the AH and get it yourself (as you have stated above). So as to answer your question it is "Yes you can farm for your own materials and most importantly try to find material that you can reuse to make new materal for more skill ups at a even cheaper cost"
Yeah I have spent close to that much as dumb as it sounds. I have like no inventory space so I waste a HUGE ammount of materials (stacks of 11 crystals, half stacks of cloth ect) when I have to stop crafting to go and do other things because I need the space. And yeahl I was dumb and bought all of my materials to get here and I started by making choco fletchings and not using yag necklaces.... but then after wasting a beyond ton of time and money doing that I went to capes.... but it takes me forever to get any kind of skill, and I can't get things to sell to save my life. I think I just have terrible luck. And thanks for the reply! ^^ I had just been uber curious about the farming since I know when I go to farm other things for money the drop rate is horrible unless u have thf.... but then again it just may be those particular mobs.
I know this is hard to do for most people, but I personally prefer to spend 100% of a designated time crafting. However, I understand that it is popular to craft during times when your waiitng on something. My suggestion on this is to use the delivery box and send items to yourself and then keep hitting the "Return to Sender" thing.
Here is a small guide I'll make for you so your expenses aren't so bad. . . . .
Level 1: Wind + Yagudo Necklace = Grass Thread
Level 4: Earth + Grass Thread = Grass Cloth
Level 11: Wind + Grass Cloth = Hachimaki
( I suggest Full Moon, Advanced Imagery Support and Day of crystal so that it is 4 + 1 + 2 + 1 = 8 , 11 - 8 = 3 level gap - Full Moon is optional)
Level 18: Earth + Grass Thread + 3 Grass Cloth
( Again, I suggest Advanced Imagery Support and Day of crystal so that it is 11 + 2 + 1 = 14, 18 - 14 = 4 level gap)
*Also, when you have reached around level 12 or 13 here is another reciepe that you can use*
Level 19: Lightning Cyrstal + 2 Flax Flowers = Linen Thread
( With Level 12 or Level 13 Clothcraft it will be around a pure 7 or 6 level gap, now using Advanced Imagery support you can turn it to a 5 to 4 level gap)
I do believe you can find Flax Flowers at the Airship merchants if your having problems getting them from Guild Merchants
Thank-you soooo much! {/kneel} You guys are the best! I really can't wait to get started crafting again because thanks to u guys I have a clue as to what I'm supposed to do instead of just bumbling around like a complete moron and just getting frusterated with it. Thank-you again!!!
