R Chocotrain or a Training Session?

So I've gotten my bird to SS Rank STR and END and it's only like day 50, so I've been putting it through free runs to get Chocobucks to raise it's Discernment to lean abilities.

However, on the Chocobucks page on FFXIclopedia it gives me two options to raise my bird's stats: an Item called R Chocotrain, or just an all out training session.

Is one better than the other? Because the item is significantly more expensive than the session. Perhaps that's only due to the fact that you can sell the item on the AH?

It is a safe assumption that the increased Chocobuck price is solely because you can trade/AH the item'd training programs.

If you wanted to compare R Chocotrains the Chocotrains, though, the difference is Chocotrains are essentially the only way to raise the stats on a retired chocobo, so far as I know.
