Well ive decided to do boneworking i'd like to put 1 mil into it. so i'd like to know what moon phase gives the best synths..full moon? new moon? 50% moon? thanks for the help ^-^

I'm not sure if the moon phase has any effect at all on crafting but if it does then it's probably going to be Full or New moon conditions as Hojo said. Those moon phases seem to boost drop rates and fishing results.
It's also normally better to craft on days that the crystal you're using is strong against.

Anyway, moon phase works the same for every craft, you get the best RESULT during fullmoon and newmoon... as for the gain, I hear 2 types of saying; one saying that during non-fullmoon, non-newmoon gives better gain, another saying vise versa... According to JP database site I use, fullmoon/newmoon does help both gain and result, though I am not sure who is right. I am sure that fullmoon/newmoon helps result, but for the gain part, I am not sure.
As for what Hoto said about days of week, it also works the same for every craft, use the corresponding crystal of the day to improve your result/gain, for example, ice synthesize on a fireday would mean more failure and less gain... whereas an ice synthesize on iceday would give you a better gain and more successive results than you normally do on a non-fire/ice/darkday.
Darksday and Lightsday work slightly differently from the other basic elements, on darksday, the general crafting ability for all crystal drops by a little bit(not as much as it does for opposite element day), and obviously normal reduction for light synthesize. Lightsday improves all synthesizes by a little bit(not as much as it does for same element day), and reduction on dark.
Also to remember that for bonecraft, wind synthesize is one of the main element, but the guild closes on windsday(wind causes bone to decay faster).
