  • Which craft???

Ok so i want to choose a craft to make some cash in. I tried woodworking but only got it to lvl 4 do to my lack of cash. I would like to start smithing cause it pays good and alchemy too. cooking was a good craft for a while but it doesnt seem to pay good. All this crafting stuff makes me confused  and i never have enough money to support a craft lol, so any tips would be nice.
FFXI rocks, but then again because of it i
    have no life.

fishing if youre serious about making gil. there are other ways but unless youre joining a hmn linkshell, its the best way to make gil for your other crafts. how many high level fishermen do u know that have gil problems?

You can make a profit from low level Clothcrafting, and you can make a steady profit from Cooking once you can start making baits.

I finally started leveling Fishing, which I hated doing due to the time, and how boring it is, but I knew it was a source of good gil. Well at a certain point you need bait for the fishing, why not make it myself. Since the supplies are super cheap, I could make plenty of bait for myself, and then make a huge profit on selling my surplus bait.

On a Full or New moon, I could fish up 12k worth of Moat Carp, and make 8-12k from selling bait. Insect paste would sell for 750g a stack when it cost me about 150g to make. It's not a huge chunk at a time, but it sells very fast, and a huge profit margin.

And it's not difficult or expensive to level Cooking up to the point of making insect paste. At almost Lv.60 Cooking, I farm or grow a lot of the ingredients I need for my cooking. But I sell insect paste, crayfish balls, Boiled Crab, and Mithkabobs for profit. (I can make and sell pies, but they never seem to sell. And I can't make Witch kabobs on any sort of regular basis.)
