  • Smithing lvl 0-100, how much to power lvl?

I know that it will vary from server to server, but I'm just curious to those of you who have lvled smithing that far, how much did it cost?

If I'm reading the sites right, in order to get that rare/ex adaman armor for drk I'm going to have to have lvl 100 smithing =[

BTW I know it will cost millions, what I want to know is how many >_<

Then I'm thinking something else, cause I saw a 75 drk wiht this purplish rare/ex armor today. Perhaps I'm thinking af2? I thought it said adaman something or other though.

As far as I know, there are 2 sets of Adaman gear. 1 set is what is crafted by a high level smithing skill. The other set is obtained through the cursed item quest (i believe). If you're on midgarg, you'll find fairlady wearing the -entire- cursed set version (spare the head, he has smithing glasses on =P) It's really quite impressive.

I thought the bloody and crimson armors were rare/ex. Aren't they crafted from the cursed items w/ abjurations orsomething like that? I might be wrong but thats what I understood anyway.

There's 2 different sets of adaman armor.

One is the dark-blue armor, PLD/DRK only, not rare-ex, the chest name is Adaman Cuirass.

The other (cursed) set is WAR/DRK/BST, rare-ex, chest name is Adaman Hauberk.

All cursed armor works the same way. You get the cursed armor piece, which is not rare, not ex, and not equipable. Then you get a rare/ex abjuration (uncurse scroll) from HNMs, trade both to a npc and he uncurses the armor, and it becomes rare/ex.

So there is absolutely no need to raise crafting skills at all to obtain cursed gear.

Also, the drk AF2 set is named Abyss <part>, may have been what you saw but I'm not sure about it being purple-ish.

to reply to the orginal topic of the thread, even though it's probably no longer necessary...

it does take millions... and the closer you get to 100, the steeper the price becomes.

0 to 73 is relatively cheap-ish, if you have the proper subcrafts leveled. Price tag... say... around 2 million or so... give or take

73-83 is somewhat expensive. On Midgardsormr, it cost me about 130k per 12 synths, with a ~36k return from the products. average gain rate of 0.3 skills per dozen synths. you can do the math

83-86 broke me. the skilling formulas that're available for that range yields horrorible products that either don't sell or sells for a loss on the AH. NPCing them results in serious losses... but if you're power skilling, you're NPCing the products. Typical dozen synths cost me 385k... same skill gain rate of approximately 0.3 per dozen. NPC resale of the products gets you maybe 1/3rd of your money back. Those 3 smithing levels literally sent me to the poor house... about 2.8-3m+ lost there.

I'm done smithing for a bit though... made my own signed Hauberk ^^)b
