  • Is LuShangs worth it?

Is it really worth the carps turned in? Up until now I have been selling my carps.. but I want to know if I should save up for a lushangs.

Comapred to a composite rod, how much more bites do you get? How much better are the catch rates? 833 stacks of carp are alot. XD I wanna know if its really worth it.

Yeah, I would really want to know this too. I mean I'm thinking it must be, because why else would people buy it?

With Lu Shang you can also farm monsters that pop from fishing, which I heard sell for more than 100k. I know several Japanese people who do this with their high skill and rod. I don't know anything about the fishes though orz.

Bastore Breams are the fish of choice to high level players. Catch relatively fast with a lu Shang's and sell to the NPCs for 1-1.3k (can't remember) each.

Well, with a lu shang rod you can get 20k gil an hour with relative ease.
You could of course also just fish moat carp with a glass rod for like 16k an hour. (at higher skill of course)

          Depends on your ambitions.

Edit: brain failure, i mean with LU SHANG you can get 20k an hour with relative ease.

              70+ skill.

Just for fun today I picked up a glass rod, made some insect paste and went fishing in Rabao. Caught 9 stacks in 2 hours, the Sandfish paid for the IP. Moon at 71%+ and fished over lightsday and darksday.

At 56 skill I caught at least 3 stacks an hour without problems.

Man, I didn't know having a skill that much higher made THAT much of a difference.

Im dissapointed.. is 20k/hour the most you can get from high lvl fishing? I was expecting at least 50k/hour.

Should just stop leveling it and get some craft high enough ><

hmm i've heard from a guy I met raising crafts that he was making around 75k a hour with about 60ish fishing. Think he was being honest considering how much he was dumping to power level the craft. (alchemly) I won't say what he was fishing without his permission even though he probably wouldn't care but he did that without using lu shang a different rod he used, (he was raising alchemly to be able to repair it.)

ps. He said it took him around 6 months to get that level of fishing so it was no easy task for the big gil/hr

i'm sure you can make more than 20k/ hour

i'm at 30 and i can make about 12k~ per hour or maybe more if i was going for breams i haven't tried yet. From carps and pipira's though i can make a lot of gil

i'm thinking of getting lu shangs though but i wish there was a lure you can use for moat carp, i'll just make the IP myslef cooking is almost at 20

you can make MUCH more then 20k an hour with a high fishing skill and a lu shangs. I've heard reports of 60k/hr or more. If you need proof go to http://www.lisaarndt.com/phpBB2/ and look at some of the posts from the high lvl fishers.

A Lu Shang costs 10,000 moat carp. Roughly 3,000,000 gil? From what I've read here 60k per hour... 100k on farming monsters... yea it's well worth it. But from what I can tell it has alot to do with bragging rights lol.

My friend fished Moat carp, farmed to buy stacks of Moat carp to do the quest.

She had her Lu Shang's within 1-3 weeks or something... dosen't seem like a long time.
