  • Gardening with tree cuttings

    I read that if I don't feed the plant at all for the 2 times it ask for crystal... I can get the item I want, but that idea sound too dumb to be true >_>;

    Treecutting+nothing+nothing=tree sapling.

    according to a japanese site.

anyone want to verify for me..? lol

Correct. After 2 long weeks, my tree cutting turned into 2 tree saplings. Now we'll see if I can make cinnamon out of the saplings and go on a pie making binge.

I haven't found any info on what pot to use, can anybody tell me?

I've read plant on ice day, harvest on full moon. Anything else?

What about examining? Can I just neglect it all togeather? Or does examining it give it a better chance of turning into saplings? (With Dark Ore, I've read that the more you examine it the better chance you have. Not sure how true that is).

Unless cinnamon is really expensive, you'd probably be better off selling the tree sapplings and then buying cinnamon. The 2 saplings should net you at least 20k.

Mostly all Gardening Sites told that you have to use earthan pots ...
But at the moment i try to use ceramic pots becaus a high lv friend told my to use them with cuttings .... he told me nothing more .. just a wired smile ^^

            Thanks Mizu.^^

Can I have the links to the sites? I've just recently gotten into gardening and don't know much about it. Only some things I've read here/friend ingame.

I'll go with Earthan Pot since multiple sites have said to go with that, but be sure to post how your results come out with Ceramic pot!

I've done that with brass pots and the result always seems to be 1-2 tree spalings. Planting and harvesting days do not seem to matter either.

Too bad the price on saplings has pretty much crashed, so there isn't very much gil to be made on those anymore. At least not on Midgardsormr.

Dont' sapplings sell higher then cuttings? And if this is a deffinite way to make sapplings...I could start making a slow fortune here...would take a while but I'd be slowly turning in a profit each time...

Yeah, on Ramuh cuttings are about 4k, saplings about 12k.

I'm looking into dong htis. So it doesnt matter what day you plant and harvest on or what the moon phase is? Just check the plants everyday and dont feed it when it says you can give it a crystal?

Just stick 'em in a pot an leave 'em to grow. From what I've seen and tried as long as you don't feed them it won't fail.

I just started planting tree cuttings too. From what I've read there isn't a whole lot to it. Plant it, check it everyday (I was in dunes for a cpl days and forgot to check it and it nearly died.), and don't give them any crystals and you should be fine. The only reason I can find that its not done often is because it takes about 2 weeks RL before they're done growing. But based on the AH prices when I bought the tree cuttings, I should get about 20k gil profit on each tree cutting.
Good luck to everyone on it.

Oh yeah....I went to Pikko's Pots for most of the information. I don't remember the url, but do a search on threads here for "gardening for profit" and it's in that thread somewhere.

It wouldnt have died unless you left it for a long time. If you don't give it a crystal you get the message 'It isn't looking to good but I'm sure it'll be ok now you've had a look at it' and you'll get that for a while then once it get's over it its fine again until it wants another crystal. Just don't feed it, it'll live.
