For some unknown design reason, FFXI has made fishing the most boring and hard to raise skill. We have heard stories of hours of fishing without a single skill gain. Sitting by the computer is bad enough, but being unable to do anything else constructive is pure torture.
Many players have been seen standing for days at the same fishing spot reeling in carp after carp. It is unconscionable to think that a real human would sit at his keyboard for that long doing nothing but hitting CTRL 1.
Almost everyone standing at the docs for that many hours is using a macro to help them fish.
If anyone is curious what a macro is or how it works I recommend you come to our site and take a look at the manual. It will describe exactly how easy it is to set up a macro once you have acquired one.
