  • Stuck at fishing >.<

I have been fishing for 2 days already, that amounts to nearly 20 hours of work, I have yet to see a 0.1 even. Right now my fishing skill is at 55.2 and I've been trying to skill from bladefish off the East Sarutabaruta cliffs.

    Does anyone have similar experiences?

    i'm kinda stuck too...

Sorry, I'm not that high in fishing yet, but it seems to me that I have a dilemma as well.

But to attempt to try and answer your question first.

    From:
    http://www.fishermanrods.net/databas...=0&fish_id=016
It seems that Crescent Fish might be the way to go.

You can also alternatively try this website and see what fishes are good for the level.

I am currently at level 22 fishing. However, it seems that it is leveling way too slow. (8 hours -- 1 level). I've done well pre-20 fishing for Cheval Salmons.

0-10 (Composite Rod/Insect Paste for Moat Carps)
11-20 (Composite Rod/Fly Lure for Cheval Salmons)

Once I hit 20, I tried for Tiger Cods, Pipira, Tricolored Carp, but it seems to me that the bite rate is very very low, often casting 6-7 times without a bite.
I remember catching only ~2-3 stacks of pipira during the entire day.

Is there any place I can go to level up, a guide somewhere for lower level fishermans?

I am using lures instead of live baits since running back to town can take a while at some places. Is there some rods/baits that are better and some are worse for bites?

    Thanks for any suggestions.

Well, I still get skillups on bladefish occasionally while cliffing at 65 skill and cliffing using sliced sardine is how I got that high. However, it's by no means fast and I've been doing it with lu shang since I think around 60 skill (don't remember what I had when I got it anymore ).

An alternative I saw someone do was to buy 10+ composite rods and fish with slices of bluetail on the ferry, once all rods were broken he bought new ones and sold the old ones. He was 70+ skill, I'm not sure when he started doing that but it was somewhere around 55-60 I think.

At 50+ ferry fishing IMO is the fastest way to raise skill. People make the ferry out to be a big nasty composite fishing rod eating machine. It's really not so bad. Study the the 'sweat' animations on your characters head when something bites the hook. Big crazy sweat spray = don't push enter.
Little sweat spray = Press enter.
Once you figure out what you can and cannot reel in you'll never lose a single rod.
I've been buying one or two composite rods, 5 or 6 stacks of sliced bluetail, and I bring my carbon rod and some crayfish paste for ferry trips. If I do end up losing my comps, I can fish nebs. When Im done I can sell the broken composites back to the Ah for what I paid if not more.
On crescent fish : I've heard trying to fish these is absolute hell. I don't think I've read one positive experience of people trying to fish these. The bite rate is supposedly terrible.
At 22 I fished Bastok Markets with composite/little worm. Youll get skill off of black eel/dark bass and catch lots of moat carp.
When things slow down here (28ish I think, when you get closer to dark bass cap) grab some sinking minnows and stroll over to South Gustaberg cliffs. You'll lose some lures at first but skillups should come moderately quickly. (By quickly I mean .3 an hour or so....maybe.)
        Good luck!

I am now level 30 fishing. What and where should I fish to increase my skill better than the .1 every 2 hours I've been getting? If there is a location that I can isolate out the skillup fish, please let me know.
