  • Picking a craft?

I know it's probably been asked way too many times here already, but I just can't decide. I'd love any input though. Anyway, currently I've only leveled up cooking to level 21. Don't get me wrong, I love being able to make apple juice on the go. However, cooking seems to be more of a benefit to myself than anything else, and I heard the profit still isn't too good at higher levels. So me being a WHM who can't really farm tough monsters effectively, I've been thinking about starting a new craft in order to have a source of income later in the game. I have about 100k to invest, and I don't mind farming/mining/etc. really. So what's your opinion on which craft to get into?

Currently I've been leaning towards a couple. Clothcrafting sounds interesting, and I don't know any serious weavers(that's a good thing for me). Another one that sounds fun is goldsmithing, since I can go down to Gusgen or somewhere to mine without much trouble. Then another person in my LS suggested woodworking(he's level 60 now in it). Can anyone tell me how these or the others compare, or even better give me advice on which to start? Thanks a bunch

Sorry for the bump, but one more try... Clothcraft and goldsmithing sound interesting. Should I start either of these up or maybe I should just try mining for direct profit instead. Any opinions appreciated ^^

if u want to start em for the profit then dont really.... u will in most cases make more money faster with farming and selling the ingredients to other crafters instead...

if u on the other hand like me like the idea of crafting and think its fun to make the items even if its not always a great profit in it then u should pick the one u think looks most fun....

I myself am a mage and picked cooking and cloth as thats the ones that I can make most stuff I can use myself...

problem with em all is u really have to be set on spending alot of time and gil to get em up to a resonable level... from what I'w seen and heard the 100k u got wont take u past lvl10 or so in goldsmithing so I would go for the others to start with atleast and try gold later on when u got more cash to put into it...

all of this is my thoughts and my views of it so dont take it as set in stone ok...

Im not a high level crafter or anything, actually im relatively low crafter. But I have done research of how much things sell and how much the ingredients would cost and personally I know for a fact 100k would get you well over 10 in Goldsmith you make copper ignots til lvl 3 and you get profit off those. Copper hairpins next which aren't great but you can break them down with lighting crystals and use the ignots and such again. It doesn't take alot to get pas lvl 10 at all. But if I were you I would pick the crafts that would benefit my job the most such as Silke said. You can almost always get profit for stuff (ALMOST) it just takes a little extra time and research to see what you need to do.

Personally I like to mine. My Galka in Mining gear he just looks so cool and I fell cool mining =).

        Yea im a loser
