Gardening Fire Crystals

Could anybody here give me a few pointers on what I need to get a nice fire crystal harvest? I've only recently started to garden, and my first attempt at trying to make fire crystals (with a bronze pot, herb seeds, and water crystals) resulted in 7 bay leaves I tried to follow the guide on ign as far as the effects of days of the week, but I guess I didn't seem to follow it correctly.

Any pointers or specific schedules would be greatly appreciated, i.e. planting day, feeding day, harvesting day. Thanks!

Try:

Brass pot
either vegitable, herb, or fruit seeds
1 water crystal added on watersday at first opportunity

you should be able to get 16-20 fire crystals.

I have used that recipie and found that I would more often get bay leaves if my pots where in bastok as opposed to windurst.

yeah i used to garden but found that its not as dependable as i thought... yet i must admit i never lost money in the process

HOWEVER dont expect to get 10 batches of 16-20 fire crystals everytime... sometimes i will get 3-4 sets of 16-20 and the rest come out as la thiene cabbages... but still you make a profit because i use..

Brass Pot x10 = around 10k gil i guess but you will get that money back in no time
Vege Seeds x12 = 3-4k?
Water Crystalsx12 = pretty much free if you save em but 400-500 gil

and you get 3-4 x 16-20 firecrystals on average so thats 48-80 fire crystals on AVERAGE give or take a few crystals

and fire crystals sell for 2k-2.2k on my server so thats
8k-12k you make every time plus you have extra seeds and crystals left over and in addition to that you get several lathiene cabbages that dont sell well on AH but you can sell it to a vendor for some spare gil...

damn i think im gonna start gardening again since i have been travellin alot didnt see bastok in a while
also, on a side note, if you plan on gardening... try not to travel too much unless you have rank 5 airship pass because if you miss the Harvesting day... thats a lot of potential gil down the drain
