broken fishing rods

Hi all, took up fishing but not having too much luck but what I'm curious about is why people buy broken fishing rods? I end up dropping most of my cheap ones cause I'd rather be using my 7 auction slots on more valuable things and now I'm running out of room storing my broken better rods. Would there by chance be an npc that'll take broken rods? I'm in Sandoria btw. Thanks.

You can fix them if your woodworking is good enough i think

a high level JP told me its fishing skill that allows you to fix rod but i think i might of confused him...but ya u can fix em with either wood or fishing skill

a light crystal? that could be one reason no one's buying my broken yew rods but at least my other nicer rods sold. thanks for the replies everybody. good to know.

I was told today that with an alchemy skill of 35+, a light crystal and your broken rod = taDAAAAA....we'll see...couldn't find anyone on my server w/ that...that could understand me anyway ^^
