Fishing: Power Level 0-10

I use a Fastwater rod with Sabiki rig and fish in Selbina > Boat > Mharua and havent broken a rod yet, in a days fishing ive caught 50 odd Bastore Sardines, 12 yellow Globes, 16 Quus, 1 Cobalt Jellyfish and 1 silver ring. that got me to lvl 4.

In bastok you can sometimes catch a bass on the sabaki... Which can break your fastwater rod.

If you level up your Alchemy a bit

Actually you need to raise cooking not alchemy. I make a stack of Insect Balls for about 100gil.
Still can't sell them at a high enough pace to warrant the skillup, instead I just get my moat carps way cheaper.

When maxed on insect paste you can switch to meat balls. :D

My experiences with fishing:

- I like to find out stuff in game on my own, even if it is costly. I bought a pole from AH (Clothespole, cheapest there) Grabbed a stack of small worms (paid 300gil, then found the merch that sells them for 4gil a piece >.<) and went to the south gate that leads to South Gustaberg, and started casting away over the side. I'm usually not very patient, but for some reason I just felt a calm as I casted, and continously caught nothing, or lost the catch cause it was too small for my pole. I did manage to catch 2 rusty buckets, and 1 rusty leggings, which supriseingly to me sold for some good gil. Well, I had just spent all my gil on new lvl spells, so I couldn't afford a new pole. After lvling to 8 and making some gil, I went out and bought a glass fiber pole. Grabbed a stack of worms, and hit the water. First cast I pulled up a moat carp, second cast a dark bass. I went through about 5 stacks of small worms with this pole before it broke, attained lvl 2, and caught 3 moat carp, and 2 dark bass.

Little worms

Anybody know what happened to little worms?
I am in Bastok and used to buy them in the shop in Bastok Mines, not anymore. I thought the shop just ran out, but when I came back the next day and the day after that they still didn't have them. Also I noticed that whenever the shop or the guild runs out of something it's highlighted gray instead of yellow, and you are told that there are none. This time little worms weren't even on the sale list of items. I also heard that even The Fishing Guild in Windurst Port stoped selling little worms (not sure how true this is). Did Square do something or is it just a glitch on my server? Please let me know if anybody knows anything.

Actually which items are available on certain shops depends on the place the Nation has in the Conquest Campaign.
If for example Bastok is in 2nd or 3rd place in the Conquest Campaign, some of the stores will have less items available for sale. That also applies to the regional salesmen.

Whereas Guilds, I think it's based on how many items the players sells to the Guild. As an example right now I don't get much of a profit turning willow and maple logs into lumber and it's a waste of my wind crystals. So I sell them to the Guild for 45 and 21 gil.

Little worms

Thank you for reply. I t actually makes sense now. I noticed Bastok is in third place on Odin
Just never thought that availability of little worms would ever be affected by anything. I took a ride to Windurst and loaded on little worms in Ensasa's shop. About the guild, it's also true, their supply is limited. Guess have to wait till Bastok is at least in second place again.
