Besides AH, where to buy Fishing clothes?

You can't always find fishing clothes at the AH, which is unfortunate. Is there somwhere I can buy the tunics, gloves, leggings and what not? Do the clothes really make a difference in fishing?

I'm a level 5 fisherman and want to get better at catching Moat Carp. Will the clothes help me do it? When it says "Fishing skill +1", does it mean "+1 level" or the equivalent?
I want to get a Mithran rod and use insect balls, as some of you have suggested.

I guess the only way is through the AH for now, since noone seems to know other ways to have these pieces of equipment. There's got to be a quest to get these items or a way to synth them.

Hrrm? The fishing items are all crafted, just like the chocobo, vagabonds, and now field series.

'leg' and 'body' items ('hose' and 'tunica') are from the Weaving guild. A skill of around 20 or so should be able to make them.

'feet' and 'hands' ('boots' and 'gloves') are from the leathercrafting guild. Again, talk to the guildmaster for the recipe.

The fishing and healing series don't seem to take a high level skill... I haven't seen the chocobo recipes yet, so they seem to be higher, at least for weaving, and haven't been told the field series, so don't know if I just haven't had the patience to get the recipe or if it's too high yet at level 34 weaving.

Thanks for the info Echo. I finally found the Tunica at the AH in Windhurst. I only have the hoses left to get. Chances are I'll find them at the AH before I craft them myself
