  • Pickaxes/Hatchets breaking

Is there any trick to have Pickaxes break less often??

For exemple, I mined 3 ores today with 2 Pickaxes, and after that they broke. They actually broke in a row...

Is there any trick I don't know??

(I'm lvl11 smithing, don't know if that has anything to do with it)

    Thx!

Thylteev only used about 3 during the whole period of beta. I think he said something about skill level helping somewhat I'm not totally sure.

As your skill raises they break less often.

Should I level a bit my Goldsmithing then so that they break less?? Or would that be not worth the effort?...

I think it's your woodworking skill.

            Maybe I wasn't clear: I'm talking about pickaxes ;p

So, for pickaxes it should be Smithing, right? Or is it still Woodworking?

And if it's smithing, would Goldsmithing help too?

            Thx alot btw!

Sorry, I wasn't paying attention. I don't know how to make pick axes. I'm not sure if smithing would help make them break less often or not though. I think it is the more you mine the less they break.

                Ok, that'd make sense ;p

I'll try that. And btw, Smithing makes you Hatchets/pickaxes.

And thx alot for all your help Zidane!!

I haven't mined alot, but I suppose it's enough to say that the mining doesn't improve as you mine more, sometimes you get lucky and your pickaxe breaks after many tries, sometimes you're not and 3 breaks in a row w/ no ores

Like I said, I'm not sure. It's hard to prove. I know some people who logg a lot and they claim that they barely break hatchets now.

I've mined for months, its random, just depends on your luck and the mining point.
