I want a server where every PT I get into doesn't go down in flames because people are...well...dumb. lol Any suggestions?

i think it's sort of ironic that the topic of your thread, and the body of your message, are asking for opposites

in the topic, you ask for the least immaturity
in the body, you ask for the least incompetence

it's been my experience after playing for 2+ years that the most skilled players are often the least mature. the people who are mature tend to be older, with real-life responsibilities such as jobs, kids, friends, and a social life outside of video games. those responsibilities are exactly how they got to be more mature in the first place.

but the most skilled players are oten younger and have done nothing most of their young lives but incessantly and obsessively play video games. indeed they are some of the best players on the server, with the most money, the most knowledge of the game, and the best gear. but most of them are far from "mature."

so which is it? do you want people that are nice, interesting, funny, generous, and otherwise "mature"? or do you want skilled people who wont suck in an XP party but with personalities that leave something to be desired?

just like a 58thf that didnt know if you change out ranged or melee weapon it 0's your TPs.

when i stopped using only wand/sword in xp pt and started using 3 staves I swap out at a moments notice(plus wand), i finally kissed melee goodbye once and for all. it was one thing to say i was DoT w/ ocasional WS (i never meleed against AoE stuff like Gobs and Anticans anyways), but take out the WS, the added distraction of being in combat on top of my other expectations/responsibilities... well, it just wasn't worth it. finally i bit the bullet and started leveling blm. since i already decided to not lvl smn anymore till i get my evoker ring and fenrir and carby mitts, it was less and less a viable sub.

prepatch, I pt'ed w/ lots of rngs, now they're few and far between. but there are people i've pt'ed w/ that used to main rng and leveling other jobs (blm) for one example.... bitter, bitter people (or bought acct and noobs)

Until the recent patch I think it was better to stand next to the mob and get extra tp with the daggers between shots. I haven't had the pleasure of grouping with many rangers though, so I'm not an authority on the subject.

I meant maybe the clicked to high in the WS menu, btw. I don't know why he'd have had a Cyclone macro set up for exp pt. Then again, we're not referencing the person for skill or intelligence, are we? ^^

Why would the rng be using a dagger ws? Or is it another example of how bad they sucked?

and no matter what level you are there are always noobs too.

the pld tank and I (rdm57) were the only 2 people who could do anything right... thf didnt thf, rng was pull happy and niether thf or rng could sc worth a dang. blm leeched till d/c after a few fights, the whm... no bar- spells, -ra spells, erase... Divine Seal/Veil what are those? I main healed, main nuked on top of my regular rdm duties (did I mention there was a whm and a blm in the pt?) since we didnt have any blm support, we just kept going after they d/c.

we had bats and a lizzy around us and rng used AoE ws, it's a miracle we survived...

well the whm died, once the whole night: one fight they just stood next to the tank doing nothing and Goblin Bomb <BOOM> 1 shot the whm in the AoE, not targeted bomb. normally getting the whm up would be a prioriety so the can get xp, but they weren't missed.


since people play on every server, I imagine there are some immature idiots on all of them.

ummm finding a server like that is impossible.... they spread the idiots out evenly between servers

I've had characters on 3 different servers, I think its safe to say your going to run into immaturity and ignorance on every server eventually. I know, on the 3 I was on, I did. Good luck with that then.

From what I've seen so far (which isn't much -.-') Odin doesn't have too many problems... Although LS members do say things about some people... Guess it's just the way of MMORPGs...
