Sony stuff is announced at 0100 my time. I'm tempted to stay up for it because the way I see it it's win-win for me personally.

If the PS4 is amazing then it's a new console to look forwards to.

If the PS4 is shit then I can just upgrade my PC and get a Wii-U.

To be fair the PS3 just had a PR nightmare but eventually came back strong because Sony began to give people reasons to buy their stuff. Gaffes are bad but at the end of the day, Sony learned not to fuck up like that/

Microsoft so far has done nothing of the sort, and shows no sign of learning.

Not really. It's certainly a mark against them, but it's not as bad as you're making it out to be. As I recall the PS3 started out at a $600 price point and it didn't crash and burn in a catastrophic manner.

Rumor has it that PS4 will be $350, the same as Wii U.

If that's true, MS is totally fucked. Also, I just got an e-mail saying that Twitch TV has an exclusive deal to stream off Xbox One, which explains why PS4 is doing UStream or w/e...

It just seemed like a whole lot of weasel words and pretty pictures. There wasn't anything that really screamed "this is why you should get an Xbox One".

I'm kind of amazed that they're going with a $500 price tag. Given all the baggage and extra fees and peripherals, I find it hard to believe that it will be an appealing price point for consumers.
